    Default 2004 Corolla Gli (2NZ-FE) Short Ram Intake problem

    I've just installed an aftermarket SRI in my otherwise completely stock 'rolla, and the fit was perfect, even the Air Flow Sensor had a snug fit. The sound was legit, just the way SRI should sound. However, and here's the problem, when I took it out for a drive, I found that I had lost ALL power across the rev range in EVERY gear. For eg, I'd pull away normally in first, but in second I'd floor it and the car would take ages to reach three thousand, four thousand and eventually five thousand, when I usually shift up to third. And the same problem in third gear, and fourth. I didn't quite understand this, so I re-installed the stock filter and manifold and there you go, the power was back. I can upload pictures of the stock manifold and the new SRI if that would help, but I don't have either right now as I left the car at my brothers. Pictures can be available tomorrow if anyone thinks they might help, but I'm willing to bet that someone here has had this problem as well, and I hope to Allah that someone has a solution here as well. I'm not trying to end up in the fastest 'rolla around. I just want a solution to this problem, which was a pretty straight forward mod in my opinion, and this problem was entirely unforseen. Any suggestions? Or are you experts going to wait until I've upped pictures of the old vs new manifold and filter? Thanks for your time my friends, and peace to you all.

    bro uv been given intake system of new Corrola return tht back to the shopkeeper and ask him for the LONG Ram air intake for ALTIS old model it might help you
    we have experimented alot on this and all efforts were useless on this 1.3L otherwise the adapter which we designed worked perfect on 1.6l 3zzfe and 1.8l 1zzfe

    i had the same problem with my car,v changed it bk to the stock box type filter n the car was bk on its original power again,problem here is,the ktis which r avaliable r for 1.6 n 1.8 L engines 2nz-fe requires a 2.5inch dia pipe n a long ram kit,sadly 2.5inch dia pipe is not avaliable,v experimented all of this stuff on my 2nzfe n conclusion was get an intake kit from abroad or use the stock filter

    its a air intake kit,its called as ram or cold air intakes,by short n long is meant the legth of the pipe of the air intake kit
