Default Honda Civic / City VS Toyota Corolla

    Hey guys.
    First post here.

Im a boy turning 18 this june, and im going to buy a car. I live in Europe & have lived here my whole life. Im moving to Pakistan this summer and im going to buy my first car. I have looked around the internet and decided that im going to buy either the Honda Civic, Honda City or the Toyota Corolla. The car which I buy will mainly be used for driving in Lahore and driving back to my Village to my grandparents about 6 hours away. Another thing is that I will be using the car 3 months,, then it will stand unused for 3 months while im away working in the oceans. Im studying to become a Marine Engineer, so i work 3 months and then have 3 months payed vacation all year long.
So I don't really care as much about speed as I do about style and reliability. I will be driving with kids and stuff so I want a safe card, not a speedy car. Which of these 3 cars would u recommend and Why? Any personnel experience. Plz share.

Also, could any one tell me the procedure for getting a driving license both for car and motorcycle in Pakistan?

    village use, corolla
    city use civic

for your use, i'd suggest ONLY an altis.

Civic is a car for plain roads
for the village the best option is Corolla buy any type of corolla xli,gli,2.0d or altis any one that suits ur budget all these will work.. because the suspension of all corollas is the same...
I Suggest u to go for the DIESEL one..

[MOD EDIT] A reply relating to the question asked would have been better.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Thanks for all the great response's guys... Really appreciate it
Im defiantly going to check out Altis, but by Village, I dont mean like totally Village, its more like a small city or in urdu i think its called "Kasba" or something like that. It has proper roads and stuff so is Civic still not a good idea?

Why they are sugesting corala for village is because of bad road with hell of khadas and jumps, if there are proper road with small jumps and khadas, honda will be perfect.

Go for honda it is more reliable and and more comfortable and is very se*y car

welcome to Pakistan. corolla is good for rough roads because it has got very solid suspension and made for rough roads. However, quality of suspension in corolla is far better in indus models( 1995 to 2001) and deteriorating as new models coming up. If you need a car that gives pleasure drive then its civic undoubtedly... So , if you wont have to put your car on rough roads more often then go for civic...99 , 2000 models are very good as well . I quite like 99 , 2000 oriel then the shapes turned out after that (not talking about reborn)...Hope you find a nice car for yourself...Thanks alot

I had GLI 2009 and now I have bought Civic VTI Oriel 2009. I will strongly suugest to go for Civic Bro... Its better in every aspect. ai dont know why ppl talk about its suspension? Its ground clearance is as good as Rolla. Those who have to drive all the time in villages may go for Rolla, but once a month or so doesnt make that difference. Anywayz, best of luck...

Thank you so much Taskheel & Anwar. Its really great when people answer with detail. Im definatly thinking about going for the civic right now, the city is going out of perspective cause no one has recommend that yet, so it does stand between the corolla and the Civic now. More responses would be great. Im still wondering about how to get a license in pakistan=?

    bro according to yr needs

buying a 1.8 honda or toyota will of no use.....if you want to save yr money as well

buy either city or 1.3 gli both of these are market cars and toyota has bit more edge if you want to sale while going back ....

only difference between getting either city or gli will be type of area u will be running in

city is very good..has good comfort but while going to village areas it will not support you

Gli has batter ground clearance and susp is soft which will help you drive in village area very easily

so in my opinion buy gli (according to yr needs)...
