    Default Corolla 1974 starting problem!!

    Very strange problem i am having with the starting of my Toyota Corolla 1974
    In the morning when i give self it takes 2-3 weak selfs then it sounds like battery has discharged
    Then after an hour when i give self then it is powerfull & car starts
    I take it to the battery wala & he said that the battery is ok
    Then i got my self serviced(Bushes & Carbon change)
    & the next day am having the same problem

    What seems to be the problem??

    Weak cranking happens not only due to weak battery, weak dynamo, weak self-starter but also if your ignition timing is advanced too much (it is advanced due to some problem, that is). Plz check the distributor setting.

    Dynamo is Ok as per the Battery wala,Gravity is also fine of Battery its giving 12.5v mashallah
    Ive retarded the ignition timing to max
    Point Gap is absolutely as per standard(minimum)
    Now i went to the battery wala again today & i told him about the chak chak(Sparking sound) sound which usually comes from loose wire only in the first cold start & after an hour the Car starts normally

    The Battery wala said that it might be due to weak switch (Khuppi)
    He gave me an option either to add Relay for 150rs or Change the Khuppi altogether for 450rs
    Now i dont know what to do??Which option should i go for in terms of durability??

    try changing the COIL as it may be de cause

    Coil is ok as when i disconnect the coil wire the car is still giving a weak self in the first start of the day so it must be either battery or self

    It was the Battery
    Changed it to AGS GL65 65amp

    can some one guide me what is the standard or preferable battery for 1000 cc cars i mean 48 or 50 ? here i am specifically talking about cultus vxl which have power windows aswell thanks in advance .
