Thread: Good news for Altis owners!!!! - pl advise

    Default Good news for Altis owners!!!! - pl advise

    i have been told by the toyota dealer and indus Islamabad that my Altis will not be covered in the 2yr/40,000KM warranty because it was delivered before the start of this scheme(mine was delivered end july 2005).
    pl advise what should i do- apparently it means that cars manufactured earlier are not worthy of a 2 yr warranty - are they carzy making fool of people by advetising such things
    i am planning to call people up in indus karachi and give them a piece of my mind but any advice is welcome.
    anyone else gone thorugh the same experience pl contribute !

    Do contact hem but i dont wee anyhthing happening. Toyota service is just ghorrible. They dont like customer feedback, i telll u this much.

    at an earlier issue with my tyres and Ac switch the dealer response was horrible but contacting indus in karachi got some things done, i have just sent them a mail cc to CEo indus let see wat happens. the guy in indus islamabd says that u need to mail to high up but this is a stunt by marketing guys.

    usually the problems show up in the first few weeks of purchase or dont show up at all....
    thats what i have witnessed so far...
    i still remember in my uncless SE saloon water vapours came up in the front headlights and the company refused to change the lights. we got them from open market instead.
    anyways good luck, the karachi team/head office might be helpfull 2 u

    first let us know, ur altis is fine or not, if it's fine then why r u worrying about warantee issues.

    the issue is free maintenanace which is offered to new deliveries only that means i have to pay for oil chnage and other routine things but newer delivery will not have to. thats hurt may be not financially so much as much it pisses me off.

    @nascar, brother from your post it seems that Toyota people are right because you purchased the car before the scheme was launched, so only those cars which are bought after the scehme is advertised are entitled for 2-year free maintenance. No hard feeling in this case. By the way there is no big saving in two-year maintenance, you still have to pay for parts, lubricants. It is the 100 rupee charge for oil changes and 10,000/20,000 km checkups that will be free.
    Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

    this just gives an impression that earlier it was an inferior car which has been made with parts which will last only one year and cars manufactured a few months later are of a superior quality and are sure to last for 2 years.

    seems like it was just a way to lure new customers and forget about the older ones?!!

    i heard new deliveries get service coupons do u know what services do they cover in that and how many are there.

    @ all - does this seem fair?

    Car A June manufactured warranty 1 yr, 20,000KM

    Car B Nov Manufactured Warranty 2yrs, 40,000 KM, with free maintenance

    @nascar. I fully understand you situation and would have had the same feeling buying Altis before the promotion. Just sheer stroke of luck. The Indus presumable has launched the offer to kick up Altis sale, which is not well recieved by customer like SE Saloon, the apparent reason is 1.8 engine. The buyers have turned way towards XLI-GLI which are way cheaper than Altis. This explains why they have not made a smiliar offer for other models. Let's see what happens with 1.8 and 2.0 litre Civics.

    Don't sit idle, sue the bloody toyota indus in High Court; don't waste your precious time and money in lower courts. Simply go to High Court cuz "THEY TEACH NONSENSE PEOPLE A LESSON".

    High court not now!! really want to but would be another waste of time!

    will send a few mails a few calls for now to indus, then send a few mails to toyota japan thats the max i would do

    just for anger management !!

    will keep all posted if somthing good or bad happens

    toyota/lexus are one of the worst companies here in the US when it comes to customer satisfaction.
    I'm comparing lexus with mercedes service. dont even bother thinking about the american dealers. they plain sux !
    lexus was great in customer service from 1990 till 99 but then they stopped caring as their cars started selling in huge quantities. same is the case with toyota. their cars sell. annd they dont care much about customer satisfaction. that's for the US. in pakistan none of the companies care. they know their cars will be sold regardless...

    i think too many people were bugging Indus and thats why today they advertised with a limited service period. they should have done this before.
