Default Good news for Altis owners!!!! - pl advise

i have been told by the toyota dealer and indus Islamabad that my Altis will not be covered in the 2yr/40,000KM warranty because it was delivered before the start of this scheme(mine was delivered end july 2005).
pl advise what should i do- apparently it means that cars manufactured earlier are not worthy of a 2 yr warranty - are they carzy making fool of people by advetising such things
i am planning to call people up in indus karachi and give them a piece of my mind but any advice is welcome.
anyone else gone thorugh the same experience pl contribute !

Toyota people works with "DANDA" only. Our Corolla SE Saloon (Govt provided) had some problems with the shocks. The transport officer tried few times to get those replaced within few days of purchase but they refused, as usual. He informed my father for this and he sent a written complaint to their GM/MD, whatever stating that they will sue them for this.

Results, shocks were replaced within a week. GHEE AGAR CD UNGLEE SAY NA NIKLAY TU TEREE KER LO.

well, i think that depends on the dealer as well. what if the dealer was trying to avert from this...u never know, these dealers have some secrets u wont know.

i dont have much complaints from Indus. i were given the delivery month of December-05 and i got the car in December. After a month or so I received a check from Indus amounting Rs 3300, as a compensation money for late delivery!!!! u believe that??

well on inquiry they told me that the car was scheduled to arrive on 1st Dec but actually got delivered on 28 so thats why Indus cut the check.
i would say, not bad....not bad at all!!

late delivery is, when you are told that the car would arrive in a particular month and then the car arrives after that said/agreed month. i know the delivery period stretches a lot but hey....not much production capacity n too much demand!

So you are happy that the crap company gave u rs 3300? They take 1 million advance for a car that they deliver at least six months after the full payment right and toyota is manufacturing over 50000 cars an year I think, lets say only 30000 for this example and now condsider they have the money of 15000 cars at any given time and if they just put that in a bank at 10 % interest they'll be getting rs 1500 million profit an year about of the total deposit of rs 150000000000 and this has nothing to do with the profit of the operations of the company and I have left half of the cost for running productins which in the real sense will be much lower then that for them now............ do u know how much honda atlas invested for the plant? only 100 million........ for a car manufacturing plant .....even walls invested more then that to make ice- creams........... so that's how much they are sucking our money......... Now go ahead praise them and keep buying those **** quality cars and guaranteed zero service....... unless u show the money to the dealer, he won't offer u a chair to sit so forget anything free........

i dont have any issues with their profit, im concerned that when i have deposited the money, the car arrives on agreed time.

(in my case, even the above situation came true, i still got compensation, smthg is better than nothing)

wat u r saying is like, Nestle is making billions n even then they sell their products in africa. they should distribute free right! WRONG!!!

get it staright boy, its business, companies make profit and they are there to do so!!

but ya, Indus should expand, its about time now. Infact....they did in August/Sept. they raised their capacity from 33K to 50K. thats wat they say, so u know...the ball is rolling

@Alcopone. I also got a compensation check from Toyota Indus. The car was to be delivered in Dec04, but they gave me on Jan 4, 2005. It was a surprise because I never complained nor demanded compensation. I do not think other assemblers like Honda, Suzuki, Dewan care for their customers like that.

I understand indus only mentions the month not the exact date.

    Alcapone has been real lucky,

just to give u an example of the service i got from the dealer within a week of delivery of the car
my car's wheels were not balanced as the ist time i dorve it above 80Km/hr it was giving vibarations so i went to the dealer the problem came to be that one of the tyres was terah and had to replaced. they asked me to go to contact general and get it replaced my self , F**K them, then a week later my A/c switch sunk inside the dash and was not operateable as it fell down in the dash the problem was the poor plastic of the swich retainer which was almost non existant they told me that it will be replaced in a few months as it will be ordered from japan and this was july, finally i called a few people in indus khi then things started to move i got it done in 15-20 days or so. but i still had to get the tyre from general.

just a few day a ago the clock sunked in the dash the first time i adjusted the time.

thats why i am more looking into the 2 yr warranty.

the dealers are mostly **** people dont care much unless u got links to show them.

they ask for a few thousand to get the car registered and would not give u the papers unless u push them.

is lucky cause he does not drive the car at all. Chalay ga to pata chalay ga kuch...

    @nascar
i can understand how it feels to buy such an expensive car and instead of getting mental satisfaction, u get manufacturing faults.

sometime back i was standing on a signal with @agha300 with me and a rolla right beside us. i showed him the main windscreen of the car, it was full of un even Waves......

this is the worst case scenario. a nightmare....the problems u r having are horrifying. never heard anything like this before. waisay....keep a soft hand on it bro

im not the only lucky here, autophile got a check form Indus, another office fellow just got a check for 6500.....

i had wheel balancing issue, i called ma dealer and he told me to bring the car asap...i asked him, wat if the tyres were D-shaped, and i was told that those would be replaced immediately...

im not jumping on any conclusions here, i know there are loop holes but i have nothing to complain...got a complete faultless car (except balancing) and its still faultless (Mashallah)

@hash i hit 160 on ma way back ,without hitting the red zone
