    Default Altis Speedometer not working

Guys a strange thing happened today. When I started my Altis "Check Engine" light on Speedometer appeared and then all sort of light and display on the Speedometer stopped working. Rest of the car is fine and so is the stereo, headlights and all other lights in the cabin but speedometer isn't working. I got all fuses checked from Toyota and they are fine. I will be taking the car to them in the morning but still want opinions on what may have went wrong and possible solutions from you guys.

The car in question is a 2010 Altis Cruisetronic with around 13,000km on the ODO. A week back I installed an audio system for which the dashboard was opened however I was present during the whole process and the installer never opened the speedometer or touched any other stuff. Everything was working fine until today.

Seems like a possible solution however the DVD was installed 6 months back. A week back, DVD was only taken out to install RCAs for amplifier etc. Anyways thanks alot for the uselful reply!

Can you please share the total cost of the wire and labor etc you paid? Also what exactly is this wire called?
