    Default GLi 2010 or 2011

I am planning to book A GLi these days through Toyota Islamabad (or any other Toyota in Rwp/Isb for that matter) in a few days time. What I have been told officially is that the delivery time is 2 months. Now what is the experience of the fellow members regaridng the typical lead time operating these days for GLi.

Secondly, if i receive my vehicle some time in decemeber, what is the likelihood of it being a 2011 model rather than 2010. Is there any difference in what you call "Manufacturing Year" & "Model" of a car. and if the bank files the case for registration in Decemeber, would i get "2011 Registered" status?

    regards,

i think the year it gets registered that matters.. but even if its registered in Dec 2010, it can be called 2011 model ..

There is a difference between 2010 Manufactured and 2011 Model. If you car is delivered in late December it would be 2011 model but 2010 Manufactured. Most importantly when you will go and sell your car in future, dealers and prospective buyers will treat your car as 2010 Model because it was manufactured in 2010. Therefore, what is important is year of manufacture and not model in Pakistani market

Do you suspect even the minutest change in upcomping GLi 2011? you are right about the resale but that effect becomes more pronounced if there is any shape change. Model year and Registration year should mean the same thing if there is no real change in the vehicle itself.

    @ viking
yaar you are scaring me. Toyota ppl are sort of giving me a firm commitment to deliver the vehicle within 6 weeks (or whatever time mentioned in the quotation). Otherwise, according to them, they become liable to pay some penalty to the buyer if they fail in their commitment as far as the delivery of the vehicle is concerned.

No change in the model and no facelift guaranteed. If that is your only concern then there is nothing to be worried about.

6 weeks for GLI strange but yes sales do get low and delivery become fast in the month of december because normally people dont buy cars in december because of new year and secondly company wants to end the year with good numbers so they produce maximum.

dont buy any oral commitments dude ask them to provide everything in black and white.

I think if there is a facelift in Corolla, it will be all across the board (XLi to Altis). All Corolla's share almost the same exterior.

if its confirmed news tht SE Saloon with 1.6 is gonna be released then its a very good idea to w8 for it

1.3L just doesnt cut it for a car of this Size and Weight

    i hope 1.6 model comes!it rocks!its powerful yet fuel efficient!gives atleast15km/liter!driving 1.6 liter 2010 corolla in DxB
ur claiming a 1.6L version will consume less fuel than 1.3L?

Toyota Corolla 1.6L gives 31MPG in City driving which is 13km/L
    as claimed by
    uk.cars.yahoo.com
    whatmpg.co.uk

considering the traffic on our roads the end figure can be slightly less than this

How about this and a few more websites reporting some facelift in 2011 Corolla currently at display in Middle East & other countries.

    ^ yar bhai jan

Toyota Corolla will indeed get a facelift in 2011 but not in Pakistan

the current shape Toyota Indus released here was actually unveiled in 2006 for many countries
they bought it here 3-4 years later they r not gonna release a facelift after just 1 year
