isnt every thing conected with the door light? all wires shud eventualy end up trigring the door light or either the light in the meter that shows a door is open.

So it shouldnt be a issue of that sort...
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    hi there
you all were right in assessing the electrician. After many hectic useless attempts n ******* the dash board again n again by opening it for nothing I fired him n throw that PLC system on his face but now I think that system must b ok , prob was with that nut.
Got a steelmate system , installed by another electrician n working fine, only prob with it was that aunty's voice instead of regular chuc chuc sound which u can easily change by pressing a combination of keys on the remote.

Thanks for ur kind replies guys

just to bother u guys for a non serious query
in my prev car the indicators used to flash on opening the door but not in this one . according to the electrician this steelmate system does not got this feature whereas its mentioned in its manual, any idea though I am not bothered as the other functions are working fine but only this .

As far as I remember, steel mate has an active/passive arming dip switch at the back side. Kindly go through the manual it has option for this. I have read it while installing mine, but dont remember exactly right now. will try to look it for you.

here is the solution to your problem:
Press unlock button for 5 sec, indicators will turn on continous (this is indicator falshing setting mode). Press mute button once, if indicators flash once and then turn ON, this indicates indicator falshing mode is ON. if turn signals turn OFF, this indicates indicators flashing mode is OFF.
After setting your desired mode, press LOCK button to save setting and exit.
If you have any trouble understanding this, feel free to call me @ 0336 4851747.
Prepare for the worst, Hope for the best.

I consider ma car like ma gf and I feel really bad when the dashboard is open with wires cluttered around. I ll like to carry on with no blinking lights on opening of doors rather to make the dashboard open again as all the basic security functions are working properly
