Though I am a Toyota fan, I would go for Honda Civi VTi over the current Altis. Reason, Altis sales have not picked up yet and there is no chance it would. Same is with its resale. Current Vti even being 1.6 offers more fun than Altis and has got a good resale!

Both should be about same consumption wise.
Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

racerf1: i came to conclusion its better reversing back the question, because most owners or owners to be log in with their on point of view, so we use some reverse phycology to narrow down the motive of individual's post and conclude a suggestion for the individual in question.

To make it easier for me i test drove both the cars...civic has a much better drive...comfortable, engaging and plush(low noise levels).
Corolla a lil better acceleration...a bit choppy ride...materials' quality is better on corolla but finishing is better in civic. Corolla has var-intermitent wipers, cnter dashboard clock and doors locking and unlocking button while civic lack these....so now im going for civic..it looks better and drives better with a better driving position.
