    The Altis 1.6 posted here is same/similar to Thailand edition you can see it at www.toyota.co.th . Toyota Thailand is the regional backbone for Toyota Indus/Pakistan so we should be getting the same engines and updates now. This 1.6L petrol engine is a 1ZR-FE series engine with power output of 122 PS/90 KW so its only slightly less powerful than the 1ZZ-FE 1.8L engine (130 PS/97 KW) being offered in the Indus Toyota Altis 1.8. Face-lifted shape should replace the current shape very soon and should reduce the huge (odd!) price gap amongst the petrol model range.

    @All

    I agree that Toyota is likely to introduce the 1.6 model here in Pakistan but you guys are mistaken if you think you will get a good deal and get 1.6 in price of GLI (as people in market are saying). I can assure all of you to expect a minimum of 1.7m price for the 1.6 basic manual version. Toyota Indus is here to make profit, and a bigger and new engine (along with a new technology) means added costs. So in short, we should rather pray they don't introduce this model otherwise they will get yet another pretext on which to raise prices

    What you guys think facelift XLIs/GLIs and 1.6 (if it comes in later half of the year) will effect resale of early 2011 XLIs/GLIs people are buying these days?

    They are different but cannot work alone,

    ABS = AntiLock Braking System [I assume you know what it is]
    EBD = Electronic brake distribution [More braking Power to wheels having more load]
    BA = Brake Assist [When full brake paddle is pressed, It boosts the brake to its maximum without getting locked wheels]

    So, all of them have to be present, otherwise they are all useless

    You dont get simple english do you?

    These three braking aids CANNOT work ALONE! So even if its a City or a Vitz with ABS, the other two components are always present.

    @airo, buddy it is not necessary for all three things to be present for them to work. I think what @cutepoison meant was tht all three components should be mandatory in order for an excellent braking. Sadly, the current Honda City is not equipped with EBA(it is not BA). But i highly doubt if the R18 Civic is without one. The new swift is also equipped with EBA.

    Its a complete package, but not advertised seperatly.
    Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    Sir, the matter of fact is, even if the City is without BA and EBD, its braking is way more effective then GLi with ABS, EBD and BA. This is what counts!.

    No?
