atleast, a loaded Belta replacing a Xli should be there by now.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Went to get my car serviced, (first service) no body likes to talk much, all i could gather was yes its coming, 23rd March, Coure he didnt wanted to talk about it, and was like yes maybe disconected.

In the workshop, on eating a guys a head, and cross questioning him, he was like "sunna hai, se-saloon wapis arai hai" I said CNG bhe to arai hai.

And he was like, jee ek cng aur ek petrol. and was like maybe he said something wrong.

Which i understood that he meant, there only bringing the 1.6L Petrol and CNG variants, which means no Xli/Gli this time.

There is no way XLi/GLI would be discontinued. These are the best selling cars in Pakistan and best selling variant of Toyota. Over 80% of total Toyota's production consists of XLI/GLI so yeah fake news

ure right, but there were rumours of a daihatsu sedan, altho a Coure a is expected, but if they want to sell a daihatsu sedan, theyll have to cut sister brand competition first.

Another issue is that the 1.3L being underpowered, 1.6L could be future, but a ripped of 1.6L being offered as a GLi is possible.

Dude even if they are planning to give away Mercedes S class for Rs. 500,000 they will never discontinue XLI/GLI. It is their main source of earning/profit and there is no way in hell they will risk changing the model or anything. I can guarantee you that.

1)1.3L is not underpowered. Go ask 99% of the people who buy XLI/GLI in rural areas and urban areas

2)1.6L is not a new car. Se Saloon/1.6 GLI have been there for more than a decade and their sales sucked in front of XE/GLI/XLI

3)1.8L Altis is also here but you also know about its sales

Bottom line is 100 million Pakistanis love XLI/GLI. Go visit cities other than Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi and you will see 95 out of 100 people listing XLI/GLI as their dream car (just like you and me say Lamborghini or ferrari as our dream cars)

Don't be so naive. In Pakistan, cars dont get cheaper, they get more expensive! The new model civic will be for more than 2.2 million and new corolla will be more than 1.7million for 1.6l guaranteed. Toyota is not in the business of charity. Account for ground realities before making innocent statements

I am willing to bet XLI/GLI wont be discontinued. Are you?

^ in the 10th Gen, Xli isnt as much as off a big hit, Yes Gli is, But since the car prices jumped sky high, Toyota is seriusly lacking a autotranny car in the same bracket. (upto 1.5 million), So things could change, Thats just my opinion.

Secondly, since the govt emplyees are now allowed only upto 1.6L cars, Toyota has another target market.

What I heard, from someone who used to be in Indus formerly, was that there is a new 1000 CC car coming up and there's a possibility it will be a sedan and a hatch. That's why they're considering phasing out the 1300CC model and having one engine in the Corolla line up. There is also pressure from Toyota Japan to do this.

    Sir jee.

    1) yes it is underpowered, lacks acceleration (i have the 9th Gen and the 10th Gen (non vvti and Vvti 2nz in my garage side by side)

    2) In the 10th Gen Corolla 1.6L is a new car, In the Pakistani market, all 1.6L models are discontinued, so yes its going to be something new.

    3) Honda enjoys being only avalible in 1.8L (shashkei, bharam) so yes it leads in the 1.8L segment., while corolla has the same frame/chasis, each and every thing same as of a 1.3L so its not considered,

No i dont wanna bet over any thing, Indus motors or Honda isnt off any of my relatives.

a fully loaded 1.6L if comes with a price tag 17.50, so Corolla wud get cheaper. (as a complete car, Who cares about the engine size, horses in our country, all we need is a hatoora gari)

Yeah I'm just going to wait for it to happen Also most people aren't aware of this but Altis 1.8 has not been in production since 2010. They were not able to sell it. The last 2011 models are actually 2010 models with freshly stamped vin plates

I second this statement. I learned it from a reliable source too.
I was also told that "Molty Foam" supplies foam for "Corolla" here in Pakistan.
Maybe that is why we call it comfortable.

CNG has no future in Pakistan due to chronic gas shortage. Now the SNGPL is saying that gas loadshedding will continue till June. They are diverting gas to rental power projects to meet the massive short fall in power generation due to monstrous circular debt on account of furnace oil.

Above all when Indus can sell Corollas without CNG, then why it needs to offer one with FF CNG which needs more investment and likely to add to already high price tag?
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

This hatch/sedan surely needs to have Toyota badge; this is the psyche of the market; we are always ready to pay 1-1.25 lakhs more for GLI over City

If new 1.3L offering from Indus will be Vios/Belta; I think it will fail due to Atlas' Honda City; unless they come up with some thing very special (very competitive price tag? well built body? their marketing guys have to think about it)

Above all when Indus can sell Corollas without CNG, then why it needs to offer one with FF CNG which needs more investment and likely to add to already high price tag?
+1; and not the mention the increased CNG rates...I kept CNG Cultus during 2003 - 2008; it used to be economical...few days back on my trip to Lahore on my brother's CNG Cultus was around 80% what used to cost on iVTEC City on petrol...missed the fun of driving car on petrol. 20%-30% saving on losing that fun is not attractive enough? And more importantly these new engines also tend to degrade much quickly if driven on CNG!!
I am car-less these days waiting anxiously for some good news from Indus about Altis 1.6 and hoping its price tag will be less than Civic iVTEC
