    @autophile:

The Civic (all variants) has i-Vtec technology. Like the Corolla has VVT-i technology. The variants in the Civic are called VTi and VTi Oriel. Like the Corolla has XLi, GLi Altis etc.

Hope that clears up the confusion.

^ The interiors now black/Beidge instead of brown/Beidge. In all models.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

    Yeah,
Saw the same ad in "The News" today.
One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

Thus confirms my concern. It won't be as much fun to drive Plus I am sure Indus would detune it to satisfy fuel saving public

Oriels are called Vti while those without sunroof + other goodies are simply called i-Vtec.

^^ Maybe you would explain why the "i-VTEC" has a VTi monogram attached to its backside when its not actually "VTi"?

And maybe you could also explain why the VTi Oriel, which is the only "VTi", has an "i-VTEC" sticker affixed to its backside?

    1zz-fe (Current 1.8 Altis Engine) : 140HP / 171Nm
    1zr-fe (Expected dual vvti 1.6) : 121HP / 157Nm
    3zz-fe (Se Saloon Engine) : 109HP / 110Nm

Seems like a no brainer to me. Some people say that current 1.8 is detuned to 130HP (as listed on Indus website), however I believe its an error. But even if its detuned to 130HP to save fuel, they would also de tune the dual vvti engine to 110HP. Even if they don't current 1.8 still trumps the 1.6 dual vvti. I am glad I bought the current 1.8

1.8 1zz-fe 130-140hp....current Altis was detuned to 130hp n previous shape corolla had same engine with 140ps or 138hp

1.6 1zr-fe duall vvti 122ps or 120hp with 6 forward speed manual for better fuel consumption
My lugnuts require more torque than your Vtec can put out...

So can a re-map raise BHP to 140? If yes, who can do it in lahore and expected charges?

    • iVTEC is engine type; like Corolla' has VVTI. There will be two engine types now; XLI/GLI will have simple/single VVTI and Altis will have dual VVTI. I posted the link in this thread earlier that shows how dual VVTI works.
    • My understanding (which can be wrong) is VTi mean tunning platform and it includes three stages (three diff tunning configs) of "iVTEC". New City's iVTEC I guess has has two stages of "iVTEC". This VTi thing is basically an extension of iVTEC. Both Civic (Oriel and non Oriel) has VTi tunning of iVTEC and therefore both "are" VTi iVTEC under the hood
    • "Oriel" is like Corolla' SR; it adds Sunroof and other few niche features like dual SRS, retractable mirrors, well embedded CD Changer, fog lamps etc

as i know dont know about torque
Torque basically means how affective the "force" being generated by engine is..therefore its better measure than the output of the engine.

Mathematically speaking "T" = F x r; it includes where force is being applied.
