Honda fans will never agree on altis plus points.Se saloon has already outdated engine and its not fuel efficient but new altis is DUAL VVTI whiich proved to be very fuel efficient.and last of all altis had always better mileage than civic included older models

This 1.6 dual VVti engine is already used in many countries and breaking records in fuel consumption.
The old 1800cc engine is also very fuel efficient and i get average of even 17 / 18 km per liter on highway.

For Civic .... I am not any brand lover. Whenever Honda made good car or add any new technology i will defiantly go for Honda.

Absolutely not. I own both cars and I drive civic with utmost care and on hi-octane and still it gives me a max of 8.5km/ltr. Even Honda mechanics say that maximum one can extract from prosmatec is 8.5km/ltr. On the other hand, I drive cruisetronic carefree and it gives me 11km/ltr in city with A/C on, if driven with the same care as civic, and 9.5-10km/ltr if revd like anything

id say with CIVIC auto and manual tranny mileages differ alot,
a friend has a manual Civic and his car gives about 12 kms a liter, all autos in our family the best average we get is from the one which goes daily from defence to site about 40 kms it gives around 9kms a liter. Others short drivers give us about 8-8.5 max.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.
