Coming Sunday; I beleive...and guys get it booked the first day; and if you can get it booked now (some dealers are doing this) get it done; and try to get the commitment that you will get the car max in June. After that its price is expected to increase; courtesy 2012 budget!
This is just my gut feeling; dont take this opionion as fact now or in future
Which 1.3 car does 150+ in a 55L cylinder? btw Liana has a 60L cylinder (2x30)
my dad's 07 gli ALWAYS does 160 with AC in local driving...this time i went to lahore on motorway...at EXACTLY 130 km/hr all te way, an it did 195 (100 with AC) in a 55 cylinder...no big deal..my bro's 06 city does 165 with AC in local..dont ask abt long route..then there are balenos....and the list goes on sir jee
To me Altis 1.6 M/T seems better for 17.19 than GLI 1.6 A/T for 16.79. For just 40k additional you are getting loads of stuff and loosing just A/T gearbox.
You are right you can make GLI Auto look and feel like Altis 1.6 A/T; but SRS and ECO device / programming attached to ECU will remain missing. There is price diff of 1.3 lacs and for this you are getting rims, driver side air bag, better audio, optitron meter, ECO device / programming attached to ECU, side skirts etc. If you add things up its more than 1.3 easily.
These are again personal likings...and this all said; 17.19 is still too high price tag for 1.6L car
Prices will not increase by the dealers until 3-4 months from the official launch, as they keep it already inflated to adjust currency and other fluctuation....What is unusually is govt. may revise the FED which may impact the prices.
1.6L ALTIS MT SR----18,09,000
1.6L ALTIS AT SR----18,99,000
On a personal note, If 1.6L GLI and Altis do not have any major difference (feature...which can not be upgraded from the local market or showroom itself) then 1.6L GLI is the best deal !!
EXACTLY !! from day 1 i couldnt understand what is the concept behind launching 1.6 Gli A/T and Altis 1.6 A/T ?!!
the price difference is huge but both cars have same engine. I expect sales of Altis A/T to flop coz of Gli A/T. a 1300cc Gli A/T would have made more sense and would have given competition to honda city A/T.
You are not alone to move to new upgrade , I share the same sense to get an upgrade now then later.....
bet what ? this 1.6L Corolla catch is the possible jump many will perform coz the way prices are going up it will make no sense (unless one really have a pressing need) to get even a reasonable car, let alone 1.6L engine ! So good luck to all fellows !
Hmm Not really. I rarely drive the GLI as its in family use. Even on my civic I can rarely cross 60 in the city.
Yea; Lahore traffic has become insane; it used to be not that bad 1-2 years ago! I moved back from LHR in 2009! But lucky me; here in FSD; we have few roads where I can drive my Civic easily even upto 100; and I am loving pissing off XLI/GLIs on signals these days Fridays are best for this!
So guys which version to book? GLI AUTO or ALTIS M/T? I am inclined towards ALTIS M/T
i repeat..i have alraedy seen one 1.6 on the roads in islamabad...parked in metro parking...wats the fuss abt the launch thingy..its already there bro ...i confirmed it and saw the 6 speed manual transmission inside the car
Dear only the Altis is in the showroom not the GLi Auto.i had a short test drive of the Altis Auto 1.6.and surely it lacks power no match for the Civic 1.8 now.moreover the Altis 1.6 auto do no not have that plus, minus gear shifter it has L,2 and 3 that means u can hold the car in 3 gears only. And yes the manual has 6 gears.Only it has nice instrument cluster!
