If this is the color scheme youre getting in India, so we have upgraded . . We still lack steering controls and the indash audio, and they also dont give the passenger seat belt light warning here. (i wud be glad if there was a extra comparment there as in the previus gen.)

Preface lift interior had the same combination here, brown beidge, now its greyish/Black and beidge
Heres a pic, i copied from @qwertypoius thread. This is how the top of the line variant looks here now after the face lift.

Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

No new colors have been launched with the Altis. It was a negative hype that Indus is launching new colors. In fact they have taken two colours (pure silver and red mica) off the colour chart.

Our office keeps one rented car. Till yesterday there was a white 2010 Xli and it was replaced by a zero meter black one. Office people only noticed that the white car has gone and a new same car in black colour has arrived. Nobody noticed other changes in the "Face-lift".

I can't say for others, it is their money and if they are happy to pay over and above it is their choice. In my case I waited six months (booked end July, got car in early January) but did not pay anything over and above the factory price.

Even if I need a car desperately that it is oxygen for me, what I would do is to add this money to buy an up model which are normally available readily.

For example if I go to buy Gli which is for 1,529,000 if we add 135,000 on money it becomes 1664000 while Gli auto with 1.6 engine is available for 1,679,000 so why not get that? Same goes for other model.

+1, Altis is usually delivered with in a month as they sell very low in number (in comparison to its younger sisters GLI and XLI etc) and dealers are happy to take its order. Its new launch; once the dust is settled down situation will be back to this. Even now; simply get the dealer list from Indus site; dial the dealers in nearby smaller cities. They might deliver the car quick!

sir go wid your eyes closed for an altis manual instead of GLi automatic...... i dont know y did they came out with a GLI automatic in the first place with a 1.6 ltr engine. they should have given it with a 1.3 engine. then it would have truely been a GLI..... to me its a ripped out altis with a little bit lesser price.

and another addition is the 6 speed gearbox..... its truely a treat!

true that, when we planned to replace the car, Toyota people were giving ready deliveries, (Dec 2010) some how we had to delay it to end January, at that time every other showroom promised us Feb delivery. Ready delivery was 35000+ My father said that 1000 a day, hence said no way, lets book it went to Toyota Central motors, A major Toyota dealer, he gave us tentative delivery January and said there was some issue in the Medium silver color so it might go upto Feb but probably ul get ur car in the last week.

we made a booking at 5.30 aprxx on 25th Jan. On 28th Jan the car was dispatched from Indus Motor Company, having dates on manufacture 26th January. 19.00 hours

I have similar expereinces; both with Indus Toyota and Altis Honda. Got my "City" in one week (2009), "Corolla" in three weeks (2011) and "Civic" also in three weeks (2011). This Civic even in recent "so called parts availability crises days". Before booking they say "this and that" but once booked; the cars are usually delivered quick!
