2E works like a gem on CNG
and you would get more then 140 km in local easy
on petrol 12km per ltr with light foot
carby cars are simple, easy to tune and set
however late efi models of corolla (previous shape xli/gli), Honda City's , give way better mileage on petrol or cng in comparison
Life is short and very unpredictable just like a Quarter mile .....

    Thanks for reply .

I have driven petrol/cng cars for a short duration but havent owned one till now.Used to with diesel so can U answer following questions?

1.If we compare 2E 1300cc engine with 1300cc efi engine of Corolla(2001-2008, previous shape.Whats the difference in terms of CNG/Petrol consumption?

2.If we compare 2E 1300cc engine with 1600 cc(4A-FE) engine that used to come in 1.6Gli(1998-2001) .Whats the difference in CNG/Petrol consumption?

3.If we compare 2E 1300 engine with SE Saloon 1600cc engine of previous corolla?Whats the difference in terms of petrol/cng consumption?

4.Is there any difference in terms of consumption between 4A(1998-2001) engines and the Z series 1600 cc engines coming in previous shape SE Saloon?

5.I preferably need 1998-2001 shaped corolla having either 2E engine or either 4A 1600cc engine. But like to have a car thats good with AC and load of people.and does not have any over heat issue.

    1) Old shape XLI will give better mileage on petrol cng compared to 2E
    2) 2E would give better mileage on gas and petrol compared to 1.6 GLI for sure
    3) almost equivalent or i can say 2E might be slightly better
    4) SE saloon might end up giving better mileage compare to 1.6 GLI
    5) XE corolla is underpowered.with 4 adults and AC turned on,it will drive like a CD 70. but it wont overheat or anything. and AC performance is good. 1.6 GLI would be better in this regard by all means

What about Efi Cultus with Ac on and full load.I mean 2 persons in front(driver+passenger) and 3 or 4 in bck seat?

And does EFI 1300cc Xli/Gli old shape engine perfrom better than 2E with same load in both cars?

Should I go for auto transmission or manual CNG car? Will auto car consume more Petrol/CNG?

cultus EFI version has a good strong engine (unlike its previous carby version)
    it should manage load well

XLI/GLI old shape drives like a gem on cng! i am very impressed with it (just if it didnt have the stupid brake issue, it would have been a perfect car) (much better then 2E )

For better economy and lesser tunning issues buy a manual car! (and manual cars give better avg on petrol/gas anyways compared to auto cars)

Its only good for the Economy and dont ask for Top Speed, while the Car is good for normal use and its very roomym as @hash already have explained so well that i cannot say anything. but on Petrol its not good at all approx avg will be under 8 km/ltr

What should be the ideal CNG consumption for 5AFE; local & on highway?
