    Default Corolla Cluth plate...gone!

    Guys, my Gli was giving me problems especially when accelerating..it would jump around. Anyway took it to Toyota this morning and the guy there blatantly says that the cluth plate is "farig" and this happens to all Corolla's after they hit 60,000KM. Well the problem is mine has only done 52,000! Is this true?

    It seems that you need to look into where your left foot rests while driving. It may be possible that you are in habbit of driving with your foot rested on clutch. Otherwise clutch plate 'Farigh' at 52k is not normal.

    mics is right. plus if you drive in water puddles etc clutch gets wasted,,
    or if you have a habit of racing,, normal clutch plate wont last,, that is why they make racing clutch.

    about driving through standing rain water on road (floaded),, maintain one speed,, for example in first gear,, slow enough not to splash too much water but fast enough to keep away engine to losing power. and keep your foot off clutch.. press accelerator as you drive into deep water to keep water getting in from exhaust.
    ,,, unless you know the track, you're not good enough to sit behind the wheel." K T

    As Mics no. 420 said, Its only due to your foot resting not on floor but on the chest of the clutch... a little pressed , this is the only reason of Clutch Plate gone with the wind, the other problem maybe you dont know but your maal maybe resting on clutch, check it lolz

    @toyopat
    can you plz explain how cng affects clutch plate...

    myne clutch plate is going strong at 84k km.... its a wearable part and depends on the driving style and conditions, so it can be "farigh"..
    its all about power to weight ratio...

    agree with ghuncha. it all depends on driving habits. i have a friend, he finished his clutch plate of his EVO 4 in one month. sab screecho and racing ke wajha sai. and remember not to rest ur foot on the pedal.
