Exclamation Reasons for Poor braking system on Toyata Corolla 2007

I have tested the braking system of many local cars such as Liana, Honda City, Honda Civic but toyata Corolla 2006 has the worst braking system.

Few people think that the problem is with the T-distribution with the braking system. I cant say much about this but would like to hear your comments on this subject and how can I modify the system such that it gives a better braking performance.

Any one aware of the reason why these cars have such a poor brakes.

Hi...bro who told you that EXi 2004 onwards has ABS?. EXis never equiped with ABS system. I own 2004 and it skids like a corolla when you apply fully brakes even at the speed of 60km. I have installed yokohama 205/15 size tires. Remember every non-abs car will skid and to remove this skidding ABS concept emerged.

What u say about other varients of that shape corllla in rest of the world, they hav just ABS, same body, same dimension, same ground clearence, but those cars are perfect in all aspects like grip, cornering, braking etc

i owned one 86 sunny ages ago,,,, and let me tell you it got really good grip.....i use to run that CART at 120km/h in smashing rain but it never let me down on signals or harsh brakes... to be honest.

the previous gen corolla has the worst brake force distribution...

Its NEVER about abs. If a car with ABS has bad brake force distribution, ABS will activate like ghrr ghrr ghrr every time you depress the pedal. Which will be a likely situation to cause an unimaginable long braking distance, and the results?

    You can well imagine.

I have exi 2004, city idsi 2004, both of these cars' brakes seldom lock up even if I slam the pedal. Exi ki brakes are EXCELLENT non abs system. Its the best non abs car in town, IMHO.

Any car without ABS would skid (i.e wheels lock up) when pedal fully pressed weather it is a corolla or a civic or a mehran lol

I own XLI 2006, im using 195-65-15 tyre, whn i press padel fully suddenly only front 2 wheels are locked, means that power distribution is equal, im talking about a plan road with no angle, i think only ABS is solution.

brakes are not supposed to be used as binary switches.

well said. You have pointed out the exact problem. If a teenager wannabe is driving his dad owned corolla and hitting 160 on local roads and expects the car to stop at the signal within 30 meters, it is not possible. Simple as that. If only we learnt to drive these cars as econoboxes to just take up from here to there , such a situation would never arise

Fully agree, im using mine XLI from last 2 years, believe i never faced such a situation that i neeed sharp braking, reason is that i drive my car softly, another plus point is i got amazing fuel efficieny. soo it all depends on ur driving style,

how can front wheels lock up in case of even brake force bro? No rocket science involved, simple math.

yes. indeed true. Me too have a 08 GLi, pre facelift, and I never tried to drive it like a mclaren or M5. Considered it a GLi, and it works best for me.

However, it does annoy me in emergency situations occasionally.

I mean front both wheels lock up at the same time, no left or right run, car moves straight, soo as a lay man i would say equal distribution of brake fore.

next time dont lock up the brakes.. the brakes are linear units and you can "play" them at their sweet spot, use the transmission to induce engine braking too.
