Default Corolla 2010 tyre n rim change, HELP NEEDED!

Guys, wanted an opinion regarding my decision to get rims for my corolla xli 2011.

Had gone to one shop for price check and he informed of this price.

He is going to take my 4 tyres + wheel caps for 15000.

If I go for 15'' rims n tyres it would cost me 36000 more(Dunlop tyres n taiwan rims)

If I go for 16 inch ones, I will have to pay 56000 rupees. 9500 for each dunlop tyre(I dont know the specifications). and the rest for 16'' rims.

    Is this price ok.
And should i go for 16'' rims n tyres. If i do so then which tyres I should go for......Please give me the exact specification of the tyre 15'' or 16'' so i can get the specified one.

    THanks.!

And taiwan rims or china rims, they look the same....any difference?

    @livenkickin:
I'd advise you to check multiple tires/rims shops before you buy from any particular place.

If the EuroStar tires on your 2011 model XLi are in somewhat good condition, they can easily fetch anywhere around Rs. 13,000 or maybe more. The steel wheels and hub-caps should be worth at least Rs. 6,000 (not sure about the latter though).

As far as the rims' country of origin is concerned almost all of the stuff that is available in Pakistan is manufactured in China and then stamped with "Made in Taiwan"/HK, Korea, Malaysia, etc, as per the wishes of the importer/distributor. So take the tire/rim-vendor's advice with a pinch of salt. Bring a friend or two with you and examine the rims you are interested in, looking for any imperfections that might exacerbate with usage. 15" or 16" rim size is, frankly, your personal preference. But I would personally not exceed 15" rim size in a PDM Corolla -- else, there might be excessive wear on your suspension and EPS.

As far as tires as concerned, some of my friends have warned me time and again that a lot of games are going on in Pakistan where tires which are nearing the end of their stipulated shelf-life (let's say 4-5 years) have their expiry dates tampered with and resold as almost-manufactured-last-month tires. So be careful when buying tires and especially examine the markings/stamps on the sides of the tires and try and decode the manufacture/expiry dates of any tires you might be interested in.

    Good luck!

more then 15inch on 1.3l isnt smart... and dont go for rims... leave it stock... just change ur tires

im saying no to rims... cause most likely you`ll get chinese ones which are not worth it... 90% rims in our market are made in china bt the shopkeeper tells different just to continue making sales....

Get original Altis rims from the Toyota dealership, and then get 205/65/R15 tyres. That's the best combo right now.

Will try to get the price lowered for the 16'' rims. Would definetly try to get the 16'' ones, what tyres should i get for the 16'' rims?

If i go for the 15 inch will go for the 205/65/r15.
