This thread has become an inspiration for many on pakwheels... It is because every diy we do, we put lots of pics up and show people that it is not rocket science. Prior to this i had no experience of instaling a TPMS or khokhar sahab had never done any fiber work (he is above 40 u know) but we did it. And thanks to pics we put up ppl leared that it can be done by urself.

And to the guy who called the rims "phathetic" or whatever... Dont use words on internet that u cant use to one's face. If u dont like em, please share the reason and suggest better ones. If you dont like em for no reason at all, then its ur choice n ur oppinion ajd u should keep it to urself.

.COLOR=Indigo] Of course, life is short and uncertain...

Arslan Bhai has said many things explaining why we need to post so many photos.

As the saying goes, ... a picture speaks a thousand words. I can understand that those who have dial up connections, it must be hard to load the pages with photos, but those with DSL/ Broadband should not have any problem.

Lost you after page 39 ... Yes, it can happen when you start reading a new but long thread ... but it all depends on the interest. I admit that I myself feel bit intimidated when I see a long thread .. it takes long time to read ... But depending on the level of interest, one can do it. I can cite example of thread by Rahman Bhai (Spitfire) on his Naran travelogue.

Thank you for your appreciation ... My car has so many gadgets ... I spent a lot of money on them ... but the real pleasure comes when we do something with our own hand, or supervise it being done, often under adverse temperature and other conditions. We feel obstacles, and we face difficulties .. but they only encourage us to go on. I am using the word "we" .. it is not only Arslan and I ... I must express my profound gratitude to members of Islamabad Audio Chapter, and many more on PakWheel ... who regularly take part in discussions, and conceive ideas ,,, we discuss the ideas and then refine them ... once finalized, we put them in action.

Let me cite yesterday's example. My car's audio system is under upgradation and therefore dismantled .. and not functional right now. I received a call from one of the Audio Chapter friends who asked me to join the Fast and the Furious Get Together .. I explained that it would be no use to take the car to the show, because the star attraction is the audio system. He insisted because he felt very strongly that "Laadli's presence is a must"

Even Brother Madhouse insisted that Laadli should participate as a "Project Car" ...

    Default Tyre Pressure issue

.Yesterday, I went to a tyre shop and got the spare wheel's pressure checked. It has not been used so far. The pressure was 10 lbs ... I got it inflated to 32 lbs.

.I get the tyre pressure checked every month, but it was my mistake not to check the spare wheel's pressure, and it had dropped to 10 lbs.

Even the best functioning valves do not retain the pressure over an extended period of time. In this case, almost 11 months

.I asked the man to check the pressure in other tyres to 30 lbs

It was done at a gas station with a traditional dial type gauge. The man promised to be careful in filling

After he filled up, I saw large variation in tyre pressure. It was 34 in Front L, 31 in Front R, 30 in Rear L, and 29 in Rear R ...! Lot of variation!

.Enroute Rawalpindi, I stopped at a petrol station and asked the technician to inflate the tyres at 30 lbs ....

Again the faulty gauge resulted in incorrect inflation ...

.I reached the destination and then returned via Murree Road at around 1 AM ...

Now the pressure in all tyres showed >=28 lbs, but TPMS was flashing ...

I went to a tyre shop and got the pressure checked again ... it was above 28, but on repeat checking it was found that one of the tyres was slowly losing pressure through valve.

The valve was tightened and the problem was resolved. However, still there is large variation in pressure in all wheels.

I will go to a Shell Gas Station after office, and get all tyres inflated to correct pressure ....

The purpose is to let you know that there is large variation in pressure of ALL traditional type of machines.

It is necessary to ensure correct pressures at a good shop with modern machine .. you set the pressure and then the machine inflates or deflates the tyre to correct pressure ...

.COLOR=Indigo]I have seen information on this. However, you need to have wireless sensors in the wheels to send data to the display unit in the car.

Actually the chinese head units have lots of diversity ... they have even introduced car computers which are the size of a 2-Din head unit ...

Some cars like Toyota Prius (for example) come equipped with TPMS ..
