    Arrow Windscreen Mist issues...

You are talking about "mist" and not "fog"

Once we know why mist forms on the screen then it is easy.

During winter, the outside temp of air is colder than inside. The windscreen becomes very cold from outside, and the water vapours inside the car, which are at warmer temp and in gaseous form ... when they touch the screen, they are cooled down due to cold temperature of the screen

Hence, they convert from gas molecules to water droplets or even turn to minute particles of ice ... this is called mist.

You have two ways to get rid of the mist.

    1. Either warm up the interior of the car, so that the mist particles become gas again, and move away from the wind screen. We manage this through running the car heater and directing the air flow towards the windscreen. For rear screen, where we do not have the heater air flow, there the metal wires are heated which change the mist particles from water/ ice to gaseous form again.

    2. Then we can get rid of the mist through the use of airconditioner. As we all know, airconditioner works through transfer of heat from one area to other. In this case, two "radiators" or heat exchange gadgets are used. First one is inside the car cabin, which absorbs the heat and transfers it to the other heat exchanger installed in front of the car radiator which transfers the collected heat to the outside atmosphere ... sorry for long introduction of A/C mechanism. .. As part of this heat absorption in the inside heat exchanger, the air from the car cabin comes in contact with the coils, and loses its heat content. At this moment, the water vapours in the air are cooled and turn to liquid form. This is the water that we see dripping out of the car when the car airconditioner is running. In this way, the inside air becomes "dry" and at the same time, the mist goes away slowly.

I hope this information is correct and useful ...

Default Wind screen cleaning issues ...

Contact of windscreen with hands directly should be avoided. Human skin contains natural oils which stick to the windscreen. It happens very often when younger children are present in the car.

During normal driving during "dry" weather, we don't notice the presence of the human skin oil smudges on the screen ... however, during rain and bad/ cold weather, the presence of this oil coupled with the presence of mist, makes it very difficult to see across the windscreen.

As a preventive measure, the direct contact of hands with the windscreen and all other glass surfaces in the car should be avoided.

The oil and dust accumulates on the inside surface of the windscreen, nevertheless. In this case, it is recommended that a good glass cleaner like "Glint" be used once a week on both sides of the windscreen as well as the side windows.

    Default "Zubaida Aapa ka Tot'ka"

I have not tested this, but a driver shared a "desi tot'ka" with me many years ago. I would like our fellow PWers to comment on this.

Sometimes, the windshield wipers fail during rain, and it becomes very difficult to drive. In that case, that driver suggested that a potato be cut into two halves. The screen should be wiped with the flat surface of the potato and then wiped clean. The water drops will not stay on the screen and will run off easily when you drive the car.

Any comments on this "desi tot'ka"???

I have never tried it. But if it really works, it'd be awesome.

It is really awkward, and potentially dangerous situation if you have to drive in rain with limited visibility. Borrowing a potato from any nearby household is much easier than looking for an electrician ...

.. but, as I said .. it was a Zubaida Aapa ka Tot'ka, so comments from experts would be welcome

To be honest .. I cannot guarantee marital success!!!

Opposite genders have natural attraction .. but they are different.

I recommend reading "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus" by John Gray as a text book on human relationships. Several years ago, I had discussion on this subject in a thread on Orkut with a girl from Karachi. I quoted "9 words women use" and our bilateral conversation went on for more than 500 postings

... aur phir hamari larai ho gai..!

.. but, as I said .. it was a Zubaida Aapa ka Tot'ka, so comments from experts would be welcome
I didn't know Zubaida Aapa is into cars as well. That's cool!

Btw, once I was going my friend in his Mehran and it started raining cats and dogs and the vipers stopped working. He is 6'4" mashAllah and what he did was, he opened his window, put his hand on the viper, and started moving it manually.

Well, I am tall like your friend ... yes, I have used that make-shift wiper ...

It works without electricity ... but if it is raining cats-and-dogs, you can imagine a swimming pool inside the car.

"Zubaida Aapa" has solutions for everything..right? At least this is what I know from several messages I received every day .. and you must be familiar with so much unpublished work by Ahmad Faraz.

Hahaha... Yes... How can I forget Ahmad Faraz Sb. But I am not familiar with Zubaida Aapa's totkay. I am not in Pakistan since her totkay became famous and unfortunately she is not that famous in HK.

I don't know if you have seen her cooking shows ... apart from cooking expertise, she appears to have knowledge of "everything" .. so this trait of her is being exploited by people who send joke messages .. you can understand
