Shahid Bhai ... waiting very anxiously to see your new fans .... BTW did you purchase them from the online shop in Islamabad?

Yeh to mera mazaaq ban gaya hai

"No drilling, no cutting, no bending" policy implementation brings out frustrated responses from installers ...

... Just today I got interesting feedback from the installer who is handling stuff in Laadli ... I told him, I want this, this, this and this .... and he said it would be lot easier if I had flexible principles ... but MashaAllah, he did everything as per my wishes ...

Getting the tip from your installation of tweeter, I got a hint, and yesterday I went into my DIY mode ... I used two 2-litre bottles of soft drinks for making a FG pattern for tweeter pods ... I used scissors and cutter ,,, and came out with an interesting result ... I will work on it on Monday/ Tuesday and InshaAllah come up with a nice tweeter pod pair ... while still following "No drilling, no cutting, no bending" policy

But sir do keep in mind the installation / mounting... Since cutting/drilling into laadli is against your rules, mounting them both will take some serious fabrication.

Bhai .. thank you very much for sharing these photos. They look very nice, but the issue of lowered suspension in a country like ours sounds like a very difficult idea.

Islamabad has the best roads in Pakistan, yet the presence of speak breakers makes it difficult to even consider lowering the suspension. Besides, Laadli with its million and one modifications, still remains a family car. Usually I move around in Islamabad alone, or with driver ... but when I go to Lahore or Gujranwala, my family accompanies me ... under that scenario .. it is almost impossible for me to think about suspension modifications

Thank you very much Shahid Bhai for your detailed reply ... Car audio is something totally different from home audio .. in home audio, everything comes in ready to use form, while car audio equipment requires blood, sweet, ingenuity, sharp ears, knowledge, experience, imagination, and creativity ...

... You can buy a $1500 worth of subwoofer, but unless you install it properly, it can sound more pathetic than the cheapest equipment around.

Working in hot june weather requires lot of courage ... I have been doing it, and the results are evident ... the complexion of my neck and shoulders does not match at all ... my whole body is covered with prickly heat ... and it is the perseverance which keeps me going

Quote Originally Posted by DrShaggy View Post

Every car has different acoustic characteristics, even two different cars of the same model will behave different due to the difference in seat upholstery etc. And to find out the best possible install location, one must try different install positions to find out the winning combination. And thats what i did, first tried the typical pillar install location, then relocated the tweeters to different positions, making note of the impacts different positions have. Finally when i found the best position for my car AND my tweeter, i fixed it in that place and made DIY custom door pods. The scars and holes from previous tests can be easily taken care of and will be done so, just not in the mood these days, owing to te fantastic weather.
So in short, definitely function > form.
Definitely cut up > half a$$ed install
Definitely sound > bling and flash.
I hope you get my point mate.

Tayyab Bhai ... my suggestion to you is not to go for tube sound deadening option ... it is not easy, but you should explore the market for dynamat alternatives ...

It is good to see Tanveer Bhai in DIY mode ... so stay in touch with him ..

Tanveer Bhai ... thank you for the reply and the phone call ...

Today I discussed my intention of getting the rubber paint for the front wheel arches with friends .. Ogre told me about his experience in Canada and Russia ... According to him, such treatment does not last long, and it has to be done before the onset of winter every year.

Dynamat Xtreme is also manufactured in the form of paint ... but not available in Pakistan

Bhai ... it is always a matter of happiness for me to communicate with friends ...

You have asked several questions .. so let me respond to them in the same order ..

    1. Essentials >> It is important to first determine what you want ... that makes the difference between luxury and necessity ... First essential is perhaps to change the tyres and rims .. this is what most Corolla and Honda buyers do. Buy good set of polish, wax, glass cleaner and Son of a Gun. You will need to get mats .. In my case, I have 3-D mats and then covered with transparent plastic mats. Perhaps a leather steering wheel cover ... My advice is to pick up a thread like that of Laadli and see what you deem necessary.

You will need to have a good crook lock, security system, etc.

Corolla does not come with a good audio system ... Even if you stick to the very basics, you will need to replace the rear and front door speakers ... if you intend to proceed further, then sky is the limit ... If you need my feedback on this, first you should have some budget in your mind ..

Incidentally I started my thread when Laadli was already about nine months old, so none of the basics have been covered in any detail ...

I suggest you look at these threads
    https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/bod...corolla-2011-a

    https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/bod...a-modification

    https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/mem...lla-gli-2011-a

You will find good information in the above threads .. if you have questions then I am here to answer those ...

Tyres ... I have been using dB Series Yokohama tyres ... I am using 205 size, but if fuel economy is a consideration, then you should stick to the stock 195 size. dB series tyres are very quiet, but in my observation, they dont perform well in muddy and slippery conditions ... Like everything else in the world, there is no perfect tyre .. it all depends on your choice and budget.

I got my CNG kit installed by Toyota Islamabad Motors for 42000 .. now they charge 52000 for the same kit. My car does not have any problems in more than 11 months of use ... however, you need to check threads on PW about this ... I have heard many people say that CNG installation damages the head ... but since I have not faced any problem ,,, I would say it works excellent on CNG

CNG Partitition .. it is not available ready made. I got it made from a shop in Fire Brigade Islamabad. Mine is made of ply covered with carpet like fabric .. If you do not want to install amplifiers etc on this, then ply should be good enough. However, for future installations of any equipment ... then perhaps you should consider partition made of 1/2 or 3/4 inch MDF. I have removed mine, if you are interested, then PM me.

ECU cover>> I bought mine from a Toyota dealership in Lahore, but recently I got one for Dr. Tanveer from Rawalpindi Saddar... just go a few pages and you can see. This one is better than the one i got from Toyota dealership.

Fog lamps >> Depo is a good brand and available everywhere.

Change the tires? Which one would you suggest, you mentioned something about dB series in the thread, what is that? From where?
    CNG installation, kahan say?
Partition to hide the cylender? Is it available ready made ya kahin say bnwani paray gee?
Cover for the ECU as u suggested.
Fog lamps, kon say aur kahan say?

    App k jawab ka mutzair

    Thank you Emad Bhai ...

His questions concern items which I got several months before I started this thread ... so I have suggested him to look at three threads by Bro Guls4eva

    Default Todays misc. DIY

After the office, I went to Disco Music (sully_spl)'s shop for some miscellaneous works.

First was the straightening up of some power cables ... which could not be completed on 18th June due to paucity of time.
