After upholstery, we went back to the Fiber Glass guy, who wanted to use his "wisdom" in drilling holes in the trim to install the speaker pods .. We refused ... Brother Madhouse took the door trims, pods and Hertz components to his house to complete a neat install ...

He took many photos .. since he is a guru in photography, I am sure you will like his photos as well ..

Right now, he must be busy .. figuring out how to attach the pods without drilling, without bending, without cutting and without leaving any mark on the trims ..

You can make your guess ... lets see how correct is your guess about his skills... !!!

Oh ho ho! Yeh to kamal ho gaya... Dhoti phaar k rumaal ho gaya...
It is interesting to see things getting up shape step by step, slow and steady, when you start them from scratch and the end result turns out to be beautiful. You project started from scratch and ended in a neat and desired result. It is indeed a job very well done! (Y)

This was one thing that kept bugging my mind throughout the project; how are you going to fit this thing!? My heart was not willing to accept that you'd be getting the panels drilled. Thank God you didn't. I really am waiting for Madhouse brother to show us his genius way to put these things together.

Waiting anxiously to see the final product!

Hmmm... Your 4am makes my 7am. But I slept at 6:30 as couldn't stay up more. But, I started my day by having a look at what Laadli is going to get in a couple of days.
It's 11:35am now, and I am about to leave for the Sultan ka Khu of HK. Will try to grab some pictures if the Cheenas allowed me.

I almost felt guilty at keeping 18 friends awake the whole night ...

.. and more than others, I felt guilty to keep you awake .. because of the time difference

Best of luck with your "Saltan ka Khuh" exploration ... do try to identify good stuff for your XRS ...

Bhai ... it is just a humble effort based on hit-and-trial and mutual consultation.

All the "consultant uncles" of Laadli are from PakWheels, and it is great to see so many heads working together.

Now ... I can't really say what the actual outcome will be, but, InshaAllah, "all the uncles" are keeping their fingers crossed for creation of a masterpiece.

Where there is a will, there is a way

Once you make a firm mind about something, then it is not difficult to get the desired results.

There was a fast track way available .. i.e. make two holes in the door trim, and voila ... done ! ... but we did not even consider this route. During initial thinking, I did consider purchasing extra door panels for the experimentation, but then discarded the idea primarily on grounds that it would not have looked appealing.

We finished working at midnight, and we tried to make everything look as aesthetic as possible ... InshaAllah, looking forward to a high quality installation in the coming days.

hahahaha .. I know what you are referring too ...

Actually I tried to look for identical flannel cloths, but could not find one ...

Our fabricator had never done this before .. i.e. prepare a base from stretched cloth and apply resin on it to harden it for preparation of base for subsequent fiberglass layers. When I advised him to follow this route, he used his "superior wisdom" and wanted to use a "bunyaan" ... Considering the elasticity in that fabric, I was against this idea ... Fiberglass layer does not have substantial weight, but the resin is quite heavy ... so the possibility of sagging could not be ruled out.

It is interesting to see things getting up shape step by step, slow and steady, when you start them from scratch and the end result turns out to be beautiful. You project started from scratch and ended in a neat and desired result. It is indeed a job very well done! (Y)

That was a "great leap forward" last night for Laadli's thread ,,, I slept in the morning but then woke up after two hours with red eyes and a smile on my face.

    "Sooper" is biscuit ..right?

Okay, I need a tall mug of black coffee with "sooper"

Best of luck with your "Saltan ka Khuh" exploration ... do try to identify good stuff for your XRS ...
Hahaha... No you shouldn't feel guilty at all. Mai to Laadli k jiye jaag raha tha.
Actually, staying awake is not an issue, but getting up early is... Normally I don't get up early but today I had to, so that I could visit Sultan ka Khu!
And the exploration, yes... It was an interesting and disappointing experience. I'll tell why.

The place is known as Mong Kok and it is no where near to Sultan ka Khu! That place is just legendary!! It was more like an LED market. You can see almost every thing for the car but with one or more LEDs on it. If chrome is the blingg blingg in US, LEDs are a blingg blingg for the Chinese.

I asked for a Red Honda logo and the sales girl showed me one. It was indeed red but a glittered one. Language being the barrier, I downloaded the pictures in my mobile so that I can show them and ask and it helped to some extent but the main thing is that the prices were just insane! Like, if I am living in HK and have a car over here and I want to put something in it, then its fine. I'd be earning in HKD and spending in HKD but when I was doing an approximated conversion by adding a zero at the end of every amount, the first thing that used to come to my mind was WTF! If I have to bring it back to Pakistan then that's not wise. Specially spending on these tiny things.

Just imagine what would you say if you find just a cover with an indicator for the side mirrors of Honda Civic for PKR 12000/- And a simple digital clock for PKR 4200/-

So After visiting a couple of "decoration" shops, I stopped asking about anything for my car as it was exertion and nothing else. There was just one shop where I found a proper English speaking man who came to me and asked, "Hello Sir, how may I help you?" and when I said do you have the side mirrors of 2009 Honda Civic he said me with a strange smile on his face, Oh! No Sir! Sorry, we don't sale any parts for Japanese cars. Khair, I found the reason of his good english.

I however kept on looking for the speakers that you asked me. I will check them again once you mail me the pictures for reference. According to my understanding, what I saw there are:

    Project &quotLaadli" - My Toyota Corolla GLi 2010 -230115

    Project &quotLaadli" - My Toyota Corolla GLi 2010 -230116

This was a set of 5.1 with a couple of mini amps.

    Project &quotLaadli" - My Toyota Corolla GLi 2010 -230117

    Project &quotLaadli" - My Toyota Corolla GLi 2010 -230118

I'd check again after seeing the reference pictures.

Now, the actual Sultan ka Khu kinda place is very far from my home. I can reach Shenzhen in less time than reaching that place in HK. All the scrap and junk yards are located over there. I'll go there some other day with having plenty of time and an authentic person with me. I am sure they'll have parts for the "Japanese" cars.

Chalo, all was good. At least now I know which place one should not look for.

Aur haan... Eak aur baat jo k faida day sakti hai. There is a new plan. I'll coming to Pakistan in June and via Dubai. I'd stay there for like 2 weeks. If you want, you can search for the desired things in Dubai. I'll check them up.
