Uffff... Now this is gonna be some heavy sound system! The plan looks good to me so far. And i trust you and madhouse bhai. I am sure you guys will come up with something awesome!
I was concerned about the woofer box getting smaller and hence producing not enough bass. But there is enough stuff to compensate that. Good going. MashAllah. You have a month and a half left. So you gotta hurry up.

This is a summary of our discussions today ... of course it is open to suggestions by "uncles" ...

One sub should have been enough for this SQ system ... however, we are planning for two ... bigger boxes perform better, but here we are seriously worried about the space. We have to restrict the subwoofers to the sides of the body and not to bulge out into the main trunk space ...

We will try to achieve 1.6 cubic ft space required for the sub ... We will have some room in the back, so we will use that space ... besides, in order to improve the base, we will make the front of the sub enclosures with wooden sheet and then cover it with fiber glass... that should further compensate for the loss, if any, of the subwoofer

This is how the base of the board will look ... I don't know how to show the LEDs on the rims of the amps and the CONs ...

After this we will add a layer of plexiglass which should be sealed from all sides, so that no dust may enter the space.

Here we had lots of discussion on the pros and cons of layering ...

We will add a long hinge at the back side of this board ... since it is going to be very heavy, we will install either Suzuki Mehran's back door shock or that of Civic 1995. Two shocks would be needed.

The two amps will produce tremendous amount of heat which will need to be removed. Hence, we are planning to use 4 Dell fans ,,, two forward, and two backwards ... so that air circulation may be ensured at the bottom of this frame

The two amps will produce tremendous amount of heat which will need to be removed. Hence, we are planning to use 4 Dell fans ,,, two forward, and two backwards ... so that air circulation may be ensured at the bottom of this frame

A wooden frame will once again be installed on top of the plexiglass sheet .. its edges will be beveled and will slightly overlap the corners of the amps ...

Since, it is still a family car .... hahahaha .. we will prepare a top sheet to cover the bottom goodies in order to accommodate any bags etc.

Default Need your vote on the two designs of trunk bed

I posted a design last night ... this morning I prepared a variation of the design ..

I shall be thankful if you could give your opinion about Design No 1 or 2

I designed the second proposal with the reason that the two amplifiers are going to weigh a lot. Shifting most of the weight towards the hinged side (i.e. the top) in design no 2 will make it easier to lift the whole setup to approach the spare wheel.

    The plan looks great...

Just for sake of information; this new GLI is generally considered under powered; adding so much stuff; whats the estimated implications on the engine performance / drive etc? Few days back I heard someone saying; imagine you are given 10Kg sack and asked to carry it all day; how would you feel? If one is over weight; this is how his bones / skeleton feel. Listening this; I started doing walk daily This is not to discourage you; but just to highlight that such factors are being considered and worked out as well?

    Thank you Khurram Bhai ...

It is my guess that addition of the audio system will add about 30 KG to the weight of the car.

Considering the size and weight of the car, 1300CC engine is under-powered to some extent. I have been thinking about the upcoming Altis 1600CC ... If I finally decide to go for this option, I can shift all the audio set-up to the new car. The new Altis has not been launched as yet. I think it will come in mid-May.

The 2011 cars that I have seen on the road so far were in white and black colour. Frankly, the rear lights look weird on this model. I want to see how it looks like in other colours ... and I think shortly afterwards, we will see after-market lights .... Let's see what happens.

On the other hand, I feel I should wait for the next model to come ... Not sure when it will come .. may be 2014 or 2015 ... My car has been well taken care of, and I still feel as if it is brand new. ...

I might keep this car and buy an additional one ...
