    Default Corolla 2009 Valve issues

    Hi Guys,

Is this true that Corolla 2009 and onwards model has some issues with Valves Replacement on CNG. I mean I have heard that Corolla 2009 onwards needs valve replacement on every 40,000 KM.

Can somebody please help and put some light on this if its a rumor or something.

    Thanks,

It happens on CNG only. On Petrol it works as good as any other car.

    40000 is too long.

Corolla's in our family's had their valves burnt at 25000km. You should feel lucky!

    P.S Iam referring to GLi.

its somewhat true, our cousin's XLi CNG new shape also had valve issues after 40000 km..but he was happy with that, as he said he has saved many of rs. by running the car on CNG , (he does marketing and has run the car over 1 lac in less than 2 years)

Almost all cars need valve replacement after around 50k km if used on CNG. This issue is pretty common on Suzuki cars. If you do not want to go through this expense, drive your car for the first 10,000km on petrol and only then convert to CNG. After converting, drive atleast 100km on petrol for each 1000km on CNG. This way, your valves should last around 80,000km.

Thanks Mani and Thanks All for a valuable input. I will suggest all this to my friend who is going to close a deal today on 2009 GLI which has never been on CNG and he plans to install it.

Could this be somethign to do with driving habits, my friend never goes beyond 3 RPM. Lets hope for the best. I will post the pics when we get the car InshaAllah.

    Thanks again.
