You are buying a car or making an investment? hmm Corolla is an investment so go with the market trend but beware the more common the colour the more your need of Insurance, but being a Muslim please do not go the conventional Insurance way, there are Islamic Insurance companies in Pakistan now Alhamdulillah, go the Islamic way, they are called Takkaful.

I hope the Muslim/Non-Muslim Mod won't edit this post of mine again, otherwise you'll need to remove all the Inna-lilah-e-wa-inna-ilehe-rajeoon posts, which are at least in thousands if not tens of thousand

The new crystal white back lights looks good on RED saw one in RED in korangi Toyota showroom (2 days back). Grab her from neck -- The RED should be in new upgraded Rolla the current one.

BTW: My neighbour have one RED GLI (bought year back) a lady owns it and it suits her [no offence for you] ---- in the whole of Korangi there are TWO RED rollas -- the girls love this colour, dont be naughty after bying it --- hahahha --- Good Luck

Yes it definitely has lower resale.

Its not some "punishment" for sellers. When you will find no customer for your "red" corolla then automatically you'll have to lower your demand to attract more buyers.

Resale depends on condition make and model of ur car, That red color isnt bad at all seriusly.
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Bhai .. it is your car, and you should decide what you like. If you like, get an opinion from your family. Don't think about what the subsequent buyer would want.

It is your money, spend it the way you and your family wants..

IF there is an effect on resale value due to local market preferences, it will likely be SMALL compared to the overall value of the car, which will be determined more by condition and service history.

Personally, I would rather buy what I like and enjoy it while I own it, but other opinions may be different.

When we go out to buy a 5+ years old used vehicle, we know we'll have to make some compromises. We try our best not to compromise on condition, registration city, authenticity of documents, mileage. But color is something we usually compromise upon provided we find a superb deal.

In the end it all boils down to how long you intend to keep your car. Color effects resale in the first couple of years of the purchase when there are a whole bunch of similar model vehicles are available in mint condition to choose from. After that, its just the condition.

5+ years down the line, anyone in his right mind won't leave a mint condition Red colored Corolla over an average condition white one.

On a lighter note, its red - looks great, and is pretty much a mainstream color. Its not shocking pink or parrot green which would send awkward signals to the dudes around

    Roflmao

Its you who is spending money. Spend it according to your like. If you like go for RED.
From resale point of view, yes it has less resale. why? because its less common on roads. Many people opt for basic colours, black, silver, white.
But as bango said its not shocking pink, purple, sea green colour. Its a great colour. If you keep your car very carefully, people will agree to pay you demand. Seriously we had rose metallic, sialkot regd 2.0D Saloon, we had kept it like our family member. It was sold a little less than demanded but at a higher price than the same model. Think about diesel price at that time 80+ but people who are interested to buy clean car they dont look into these things (like regd no,colour, blah blah), mainly brokers and dealers disappoint you by saying that.

Car companies definitely do some research regarding preferences of people for every spec ... including colour.

Red is one of my favourite colours, but the shade of red offered by Toyota is not the one. I had a Corolla 82 which I kept for nine years .. and its colour was different. I don't know how it came in that original Ferrari red colour ( a little brighter red than Ferrari red).

I know the first owner imported it in that colour ... I never saw another car with that colour. Wherever this car went, it turned heads ... my brother got it repainted with extra layers of lacquer ... and .. it was really one and the only kind of Corolla .. I will try to dig out some photos and you will see what that car looked like.

Now .. again the point is .. if you like the red colour, go for it. Our friends in this thread are right. If you plan to keep your car for five years, think of what you want .. however, if you plan to sell it after some months .. then better stick to mainstream colours .. silver, black or white

Its a nice colour, but ask yourself one question:

Are you going to like this colour in the Long run? you are 21, i hope you are going to like it for some years, at least Go buy it, but don't forget to give away good Sadqa to poor people!

May Allah make all our lawful needs fulfilled, Ameen.
