    Default levin's corolla downtime

    for my friends who are wondering why levin is so quite these days.

    Silver Top Corolla is garaged getting more jdm parts.. i am getting firewalls installed.. , under bonnet damper...(complete bonnet change),, more valves, (engine is same.. no worries there TRD mounts.. and lots of other little goodies,, bigger radiators.. again complete air conditioner rebuilt with total JDM parts. etc etc. ( i know i am crazy)..lol
    only crazy ppl rebuilt corollas with JDM parts.,,, one of spoiled corolla of Lahore which gets more downtime than any other Toyota ard.

    expected downtime is end month,, car will be ready for upcoming meet in May.

    its not forgued induction,, term is known as force induction.

    levin bhai, i need some advice here. i read somewhere on the net about a 7A-GZE 20V. what major parts do u think would be needed for this? besides the 7A block, the 20V head and the supercharger? i mean, which con-rods and pistons would work here? what about the bottom end?

    you asked a pretty complex question.
    change of head, block and putting a super charger on top.

    first of all, you need to see if 7a block and 20v head water flow slots match, if not block has to be drilled ,, and that is not a easy job.

    pistons/ rods/ shims etc would be of aftermakt stuff,, need to be discussed later.

    one needs to be an engineer with lots of hands on experience on stock engines, before designing an engine of yr choice. btw, i have a question first what about fuel?. i hear you dont get good ron grade fuel in peshawer.
    second, one be to have a race car experience on tracks to handle over powered engines which become street illegal, do you have it?

    yaar, i believe that if u want to learn, u have to TRY it first. just cuz something is difficlut doesnt mean that it shouldnt be done. and if u dont know something, u ASK. thats what pakwheels is for!!!

    Yassar bhai, eik to aap fauran naaraaz ho jatay hain. The fact of the matter is, there's engines that are worth the trouble and then there's otherwise. Its a fun excercise no doubt but you have to bear in mind if its worth it. The 7/5A-GE combo is not only time consuming but you actually limit the potential of the original design. Plonking on a 20V head is great but the long throw rods are rev limiting to begin with. The redline drops to somewhere around 7.2K. SO whatever you do, you do between 2500 and 6K. Your work up a stock motor nicely you not only get good horsepower with potential for more but you get torque curves to match!

    itnay achay project ko aap ney pregnancy ki halat may hi maar diya, phir kehtay hain key aap naraz hotay hain! lol. yaar, the site that i saw had a guy who did the 7A-FE/4A-GE conversion with a Supercharger from a 4A-GZE. The car was producing around 300 bhp. i believe that was something worth visiting!

    downtime is over, now car goes to toyota workshop for complete polish/buff etc.

    who is in favor of black bonnet? today i sprayed black paint on bonnet.. if it doesnt look nice,, will spray back smoke grey

    levin sir i havent read ure post earlier....so i wanna ask have u modified ure ride mean have u installed some upgrades and some bodykit.......

    if u have installed sports body kit then i think u should paint it black....or install a sheet of carbon fibre will look better...

    but if ure car is still stock so dont paint ure hoood black....

    no body kit installed.. all we installed was ,,

    perf. related:

    1. hard rubber mounts
    2. double size radiator
    3. redesigned a/c pipes
    4. firewall heat/noise damping sheet
    5. under bonnet heat/noise damping sheet
    6. replaced gearbox housing
    7. HKS exhaust
    8. f.angle steering wheel..(which might be removed soon,,lol)
    9. front windscreen changed..orginal (better vision now no viper marks now)
    10. a/c condenser changed
    11. axle boots changed

    and the list goes on.,,,, about 43k spent,, still expected more changes in May06.

    no hash4u. i have race compound dunlop lemans low profile tires lying in basement on 15" lightweight rims ,, those will make the car faster,,but no i am not planning to make car faster..
