You dont understand the low power engine thing.1.3 L needs more stress to go on high speed where as 1.6 needs less stress to go on highspeed.

That is only applicable above 100.in city i dont agree to any one that 1.6 does 14km/ltr with A.C.

The mileage is for sure doubtful. You need to refuel the full tank and drive till you need a refueling again, note the ODO reading between both fuel refuel.

the best way to get right consumption is to fill the tank till its tank throat so that you can see the level of petrol being filled... then drive a car by some 100 kms either local or long.... again repeat the same refilling and get the level of petrol to same old value so that you can see it on throat of tank (right after lid)... see what quantity goes in this time.. then do the calculation as 100 divided by this quantity of petrol will reveal the right consumption....

The most kiddish justification to apply, seriously u think im comparing my car to 1.6 ? stay in a daylight world.1.8 doesnt even goes 10+ ,, and for those who say the present 1.6 gives an average of 14 with A.C is their rough calculation for sure,,even my 1000CC jdm small car never crossed 14 with AC in city.

I just don't understand the obsession with fuel consumption. You buy a car for 1.9 million and worry if it will give you one Km more or less per litre. I am speechless. I am more interested in performance at this level. I care for fuel consumption with a car like Mehran or Alto. No offense brothers.

Mileage should always be checked through filling tank till nozzle, drive atleast 200km before refuelling till nozzle again.
I checked my city and there was always a difference of 1.5km/l. It came out to be 16km/l where meter was showing 17+.

^^ I am not sure how accurate the avg meter is but but I do feel sometimes that it's overstating.

It may be a marketing gimmick/deceptive tactics to attract more fuel conscious customers, who knows.

I own the new Altis Mt/Sr and honestly the fuel consumption is better then my previous car(gli 2010). I would not call it a marketing gimmick of any sorts. This car has great fuel economy.
