Then maybe your car is one of those lucky XLi's which didn't come factory fitted with a brake problem. Also, you shouldn't be doing 100km/h inside the city. Limit your speed to maximum 60-70km/h.

100 is not that high speed. Some wanna be racers complain of car skidding when brakes are applied at 120+

Your driver was a lucky guy; anyhow, for future. use bigger horn and additional HD lights to keep traffic out of your way (suggestion by Toyota)

I have 2010 corolla xli but i never had braking issues. Its brakes saved my life many a times on the roads of muree. I think if u tune your car and adjust the brake pads after 5000km, there will be no problem. n one more thing, many people say the new shape corolla 2009-11 have far better brakes then previous model. Is it true???

i used to own a 2004 2.0d saloon,,and to be honest in long routes i can never forget the fear of those brakes.tried every good tire on that car even tried Pirelli,,but no use.

Yes it is true,,one reason can be the lower height of the present model.
