Haha... Yeah that's true... I do agree...
Read my post dude... I did mention the reference name ... Coz this friend has taken the average after driving a few kms... And that too; not from multi info display meter but refilling the tank time and again... So the readings and calculations are trustworthy

anyone have the brochure for the corolla - please note and post the gear ratios for it.

6th gear ratio is not too effective in 1.6l car.

one needs a torque engine to effectively use so many gears.

this reminds me of toyota trueno blacktop engine 6 speed car.

after testing by professional drivers, they concluded car needs to be a high speed for long time to make use of 6th as final drive... that is if someone drives at 180km/hr for pretty long route

if car is loaded or going slightly uphill, engine will require downshifting..

5 speed forward requires less downshift from 5 to 4.

the 5th gear of 6 speed transmission has diffirent ratio compared to 5th gear of 5 speed transmission in trueno.

corolla 1zzfe ,(known as altis,, 5 speed was well designed setup.

lets see what strategy toyota uses to sell 6speed corolla, i hope its with lsd.

you are absolutely correct but here in pak it was introduced for economy,my 5 speed rolla is around 4k revs @ 120kph in 5th gear where as to wt ive heard form the owners their rpms r much lower in top gear, which i think helps in economy because ur using lower rpms to cruise

    Aoa,

I shifted to Toyota Altis 1.8 AT in 2010 after using Civic Prosmatic for 4 years. My experience with Altis is extremely good, the 1st thing which I noted was the fuel consumption its clear winner, secondly the ride is much smoother & quiter keeping in view the local roads.

Tank to tank my car costs 8.8 Rs/km in the city with AC on.

ah,,,,1.8 civic is a pleasure to drive n accelerate but its fuel economy is really poor as mentioned by @ qwertypoiu ....my prosmatec does max 6 to 7 km with ac in city driving which is approximately same as markx or accord..

bhai air fliter, oil filter etc mein koi difference nahi lekin jab civic ka power steering ya bush/suspension fail hote hein tu pata lagta hai.

corolla ka fuel consumption hamesha se civic se acha hai chahe 1980 ki corolla aur civic ho ya 2011 ki.

main reason hai ke civic ka engine power ke liye hai aur corolla ka fuel consumption ke liye.

i dont agree with u at all.
genuine toyota parts and honda parts are almost same price.
toyota non genuine parts might be cheaper.

1996-2000 civics had the best fuel consumption in there class in that time. so u r wrong again

however since the day prosmatec's came, the fuel averages were terrible.

bhai app ke agree karne se kuch nahi hota reality hai ke corolla ke parts buhat cheap hein.

agar aap ki baat maan lein ke both honda toyota parts equal price ke hein tu duniya sari pagal nahi ke toyota wale 4000 coorlla month mein sale karen aur civic sirf 300 sell hoon woh bhi mostly company aur banks mein.

aap ki yeh baat sahi hoti ke parts bhi cheap hein aur fuel consumption bhi best hai tu i ke opposite hota.

aap ki info ke liye meri civic 03 ka power sterring fail ho gaya, Honda ne 39000 ka estimate diya aur shersha se 15000 ka estimate mila yehi kaam toyota mein 18000 ka genuine 3s dealer se ho gaya.

phir civic ke suspension overhaul karne the 150000 km par tu eik bush 1000 rs ka mila genuine aur agar aap ke pass civic hai tu aap ko maloom hoga ke kitne bush hote hein.

2004 gli ka suspension overhaul 4000 mein ho gaya same mileage.

indus gli 12km petrol par deti hai agar koi 96-98 vti 12 km petrol average de tu aap mujh se month ka petrol fill karana free.

same for altis, altis 1.8 auto aur manual 10-12km city mein average deti hai, reborn kabhi 8-10km se zyda nahi de gi even kuch log tu kehte hein ke un ki gari 6km with a/c chalti hai.

aap kabhi sohc engine ko dohc se compare nahi kar sakte, engine banana toyota ko acha aata hai.

prosmatec ka consumption sab se acha tha mere father ki company car vti prosmatec 11km with ac average karti thi us mein kabhi cng lagane ki zarorat nahi pari.

eagle eye civic ki buhat se log service aur maintenance nahi karte aur sports car samajh kar chalate hein is liye un ki car high consumption hoti hai.

its turning more into a honda vs toyota war which i dont want to start
number of cars sold does not prove its better. number of mehrans sold is very high here in pk to.does it mean its the best car around here?
general running parts cost the same, filters, lights etc
plus 96-00 vti, would do more then 12km/ltr easilly in rwp/isb driving

u just said prosmatec does 6km/ltr. then u said ur dads car did 11 with AC?u r contradicting your own statements

1-2 Km/L difference doesnt mean anything.
