I believe people aren't really opting for ecotec corollas... for their heavy tag price probably doesn't justify it rather make altis more sane buy.. Correct me if I'm wrong

^ I agree, haven't seen an Ecotec corolla on roads yet.. :/
People don't have much knowledge abt FF CNG of Corolla and After Market one, they think its the same one, thus end up buying a Petrol XLi then Inhale them chars (CNG) from market.. and happily drive them

i have one question.... if they change the head of ff cng cars then they must be remain only vti like previous modle, because variable valve timing intelegence is the main hinderence of CNG in vvti modles. what do u say?

hi guys....i am having gli Ecotec since 1 month....
truly speaking i feel very good and tension free. You will not feel that you driving with Petrol or Gas.but i felt some diff while driving Ecotec and simple CNG corolla.
The way people trust on Toyota, same i am having trust on their FF cng also.
The Best thing is it CNG Kit will automaticaly switch to petrol when Gas cylinder would be empty.

the answer to question is they only changed head not the volve system.
previously problem was in intake and exhaust volve of head.
their wear and tear was much they have adjusted rapidly to attain best performance and to avoid rpm problems.

I met a Landi Renzo rep at Suzuki Carnival and he told me to drive my non cng corolla on aftermarket kit till it develop head problems and then replace the head with that of ecotec beacuse repairing the head will not be a perm solution and it will deveop problems again. swapping the head is possible as block is the same and according to him afterwards just drive it on simple efi kit n it will not develop any problems. Further the figure of 40k or 50k for head problems can be extended to 100k if we drive the car NOT completely on cng and drive it for 20 to 30 kms after each tank of cng get emptied.

    Wink

Landi renzo Guy must be HIGH.

read it carefully since Corolla CNG is on roads. Expect CNG HONDA by April '12.

Nov. 2007 Toyota Japan & Indus decided to TEST Corollas for the CNG. Infact few of their managers have CNG corollas under observation for performance & head seems to be most affected section. (in summer) May 2008 few modified Brand News Corollas (different head design) cars with CNG kits from 2 known manufacturers LR & BRC were installed and dispatched to KNOWN dealerships for TEST & Evaluation with strict maintenance schedule according to Owner's manual. They choose Summers to push the engine to limits that is when the temperatures are at peak and people tend to use max of aircon in the cars.

assigned Toyota workshops also put under observation 8 selected CNG vehicles of METRO CABs from Karachi & Lahore - Those were the vehicles with 'emirates' logo.

CNG modified test vehicles did constant run for Toyota between Lahore Peshawer using GT road & motorway, between Karachi & Sukker, Multan & Lahore, accumulated in total of 150,000 KM in less then a year.

results were encouraging and submitted to Toyota HQ for technical approvals to modifications engine bay & suspension.

Launching was decided with the shape change. Come 2010 shape changed & 2011 CNG Corolla is on road.

LR was selected based on the 'roadside tech skill, population in terms of market share and parts available across country at remote places as Toba Lalek Singh in District Kharian.

AND The C&F price negotiated between 2 manufacturers, LR kits are direct import of Indus. Apparently BRC lost the deal based on the unit population., but they have not given up.

Toyota tested average per full tank (with aircon - 125- 135 Km (urban run with avg speed 45km/hr) 145 -150 on highways

average will vary from station to station & time of gas fill.

For a while I believe Toyota Corolla will lead the market share in terms of unit sales & likely to enhance the price very soon.

am sure many enjoyed the fiction writer IBN SAFI
