Thread: Need Professional Assistance: Corolla 94

    Angry Need Professional Assistance: Corolla 94

    Hey, I have a 94 Corolla with automatic transmission having 16 valve efi engine. Problem is that my RPM is not stable, most oftenly when break is applied and sudden acceleration brings the RPM to 0 and engine shuts off. However, it does not happen when i wait and after 2 or 3 seconds start accelerating gently.
    One thing more is that i am experiencing very bad break when A/C is on. The paddle is fine but the break is not effective. Without A/C it is quite effective but not up to the mark. I recently changed the rear drum brakes and converted it to disc brakes but it did not help me alot.
    I am expecting some pro assistance in this matter as this is just freaking me out .
    Anyone from Rawalpindi/Islamabad can contact me to check it in person...

    One thing more which i just forgot to mention is that it is happening on CNG and not on Petrol. But the engine is felt heavy on both. Like not getting the acceleration w.r.t throttle

    Bro., please get your CNG kit checked. There's no problem either with your car's engine or with the throttle body...

    Do you find the Engine Check Light on when the car is on CNG?

    boota .. if you are coming to lahore then you can come over to gulberg area and co -ordinate with me on my cell .. ill pm you my contacts .. you issue will be solved with minimum possible expense. the spring issue will solve the performance and rm problem on cng ... the petrol pickup issue can be solved... secondly...

    Good news... I found a good mechanic finally... My car had multiple issues...
    1) Tappets needed to be adjusted (in micro level)
    2) Throttle body replacement (butterfly defectiveness). I had one with me, so replaced it with the one i had
    3) Timinig valve was working fine... but it was also checked.
    4) One vacuum pipe was leaking...
    5) plug seals and tappet cover seal was replaced.
    After completing these tasks, he tested my car's mixture CO ratio and wolla... My car was just as I wanted...
    This mechanic is really pro guyzzz...
    Anyone want to visit him, let me know then...

    your car has exactly which engine? if its 16v efi then tappets adjustment isnt done normally. did he replace some shims etc? and do tell abt his address name number.

    Bro this is because of the following reasons. Prioritize each task as per your requirements:
    1) Fuel Mixture
    2) Engine Timing
    3) Throttle body
    First of all check your timing, then go for cleaning your throttle body... Hope it will get better.

    Bro he is near Bao jee Pulao on airport road. There is Pak CNG station. Ask from someone there about "Lodhi Autos". Owner's name is Shadab Lodhi.
    The guy is a bit costly but I am satisfied for his services.

    I have 5AFE in my corolla giving RPM problem after start like 15-20 mins. RPM drop to 700 or 600 from 1100. what could be the problem. any1 ?

    Its normal behaviour. When cold rpm is higher than normal. Once it reaches operating temp. rpm comes down to normal (around 700)

vacuum inside intake manifold and therefore brake booster is not applying boost pressure on brake system. The cause of low vacuum is valve clearance.
