Default Siver color discontinued in all Corolla variants

I have just been informed by Toyota Islamabad that I need to give some color option other than silver for my Altis booked in Sept. this year because Silver has been discontinued for all corolla variants. Now I am in a fix what to choose from all the dull and drab colors that Indus is offering. Shimmering green also discontinued.

I was about to go for white but my wife said are you crazy? I am now thinking about strong blue. There is rumor that two new colors are being introduced, maroon and light sky blue.

I have priority letter issued and delivered to Indus, in the meanwhile. The delivery month on the Booking order is December.

The tragedy of life is not what we suffer, its rather what we miss.

they did the same back in 2008 for couple of months. After some time they launched the medium silver n discontinued the normal silver colour. Silver, white n black are universal n the most popular colours. No car manufacturer can ever think of not giving these colours. So IMO its temp n would introduce an even better shade of silver. I would wait a month or so n get a 2012 model coz in this country a 31 Dec n a 1 Jan delivered car will have quite some difference in price. Whether 1 keeps a car for a day or 20 yrs. 1 day u have to sell it n when selling these things do affect price. Rest it depends how desperately u need the car.

Medium Silver or Gun Metallic. I personally love Medium Silver. The car looks glossy and paint is full of pearls/crystals which makes it a treat to look in the Sunlight. Car also looks clean throughout the day. Btw what is a priority letter?

@ poster go for the Gun metallic colour. Its a nice option. But silver is the only color where the tail lights look decent !

    Order of Preference should be

    1. Medium Silver

    2. Gun Metallic

Medium Silver is more glaring and shining then old one

@ Zunny: I have sold Liana & have requested the new owner to let me keep it till my Altis arrives. But that remains a big moral obligation therefore I wanted to have the new car as soon as possible. I will talk to the buyer though to linger on the deal till Jan 1.

mani1: Medium Silver looks quite dull during the day. A priority letter is issued by the Ministry of Industries to the CEO of any car manufacturing company to deliver the car on priority since their controlling ministry is industries and production.

Thanks! How much is the delivery expedited by this 'priority letter'? and do you need to have personal relations with the minister himself or any other bureaucrat like additional sec./dep. sec. of the concerned ministry would also work?

Hasnain Bhai, go for Strong Blue. That is the best and quite rare colour in Corolla(s), you see on roads. Don't worry about the new rear lights, they look bad on every dark colour. Strong blue will look overall GOOD!

The strong blue looks realy nice in the facelift models. It was my fav we would have gone for it to if we didnt had the 2008 in Blue color.

just before the launch there were rumours of the burgandy color and Electric blue color. And that 2 colors Silver 1d4 and Shimmering green would be discontinued.

Half of the story is true by now, Lets see if rest becomes true too.

Try some sources, If you could get the new color.

If this is the new color, its a real nice color, This is a car in Pakistan, Probably a sample colored car. Theres one Electric Blue in Karachi aswell. But that looks cheap.

Im guesing the new colors might be for Altis only.
    Pic take from @qwertypoius thread.

Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

The same thing happened with me! My altis was due this month and i got a call from toyota dealership saying that the ICI paint company has stopped producing Silver! I had no other choice so i called the chairman and according to him a few new colours are going to get introduced!

@ mani: You dont need to know the minister directly. An additional Secy or joint secy can also arrange the letter. But having said that, the letter is quite useless beacuse every month hundreds of such letters get issued from the ministry and the car manufacturers rarely pay any attention to them.

    @ khizarsiddiqui: Agree with you.

@chinyoti: Need a pic of electric blue before I decide for strong blue.

The car that ive seen here in Karachi looks like this, thats a Gli Btw, The color looks gud in overcast areas, ive got a similar Color Vitz, im not realy a fan of it, But it does stand out in the crowd.

Im too confident about the color, because the leaked PPT of the facelift model which was distributed by a member pakwheels, had the color code which was of this color.

For Corolla, id say dont even think of this color,

Simply go for Strong blue, its very near to black. And its a rear to be seen color, its getting common now.

The one in electric blue posted by @Chinyoti looks good too.

when selecting colours u should consider many aspects like where ur car will be used. i.e in rural or urban areas, will a driver drive it or u urself.if its u then can u mantain a dark color.coz dark colors when clean look the best n when dirty they look worser than white. Is ur driver a good n keen to mantain a car?are u a car freak n would care for it. Can u afford to wax it everyweek liike do u have the time to do so etc etc. Some people dont have the time to look after their cars for them lighter shades are better.also for rural areas where there is more dust, u should prefer lighter shades. If u drive in more scratch prune areas again go for lighter shades. Having said all that i always keep dark shades.keep em shining n enjoy them coz no match to a shiny n clean car! Though my daily ride is silver n its a v easy to mantain colour.
