Talking Corolla petrol problem (black smoke on starting car)

I have 2007 Corolla. It is on CNG. Now this is happening for the past few days now that when I start the car in the morning, it gives black smoke and I smell petrol. Basically what happens is my car starts on petrol and then automatically converts to CNG after 1-2 seconds. So when it starts on petrol I can see smoke during that 1 - 2 seconds and could also smell petrol.
But once car converts to CNG, the smoke is gone and so is the smell. I showed it to mechanic he said the car is approaching 100,000 KM (it is at 88,000KM) so will need injector cleaning. He said to buy a liquid injector cleaner (cost Rs.1800, original Toyota) and mix it in petrol after getting tank full.
I said just change engine oil, oil filter, air filter and do engine tuning but still after doing this the problem remains. Then I thought it could be due to very low fuel in tank because a few days back I saw an ad by Indus Motors in Dawn where they said that all Corollas with CNG must contain at least 15 litres of petrol in their tank to function properly. So I will it up with around 13 liters but problem remains.

So I want to ask what could be the reason and will injector cleaning do the job?

Yaar I am a novice but as far as I believe, ur car's engine is growing old due to rough use... I have got a 2008 GLi and I put 135000 kms on its ODO, but still, it does 185 with ac and cng...

were u the first owner of the car or bought it as a second hand??

suppose u are its first owner and the mileage is flawless, then what i would strongly recommend is that take ur corolla to Toyota's service shop and get it maintained from there... they will check the pistons, spark plugs, lubricants, etc etc on ur car... they will cure the problem to 95% at least...

    Drive safe bro....

I am second owner of the car. Yes only in the morning when I start the car on petrol. And in evening too when going back to home from office.

does it happens only in morning or when ever u drive on petrol??
if it happens only in morning, then petrol is somehow not properly burnt, maybe some leak in injector tht cause petrol to slightly drip and accumulate and when u strt the car,it goes out mostly un-burnt..
if car on petrol is always showin black smoke, its mixture issue!

I think it happens every time I start my car and not just in morning. So let's say if I start the car now, drive around, then park it, and then start again in an hour then it gives smoke and I smell petrol.
I am going to try and drive the car on petrol for a few kilometers to see what happens. Currently I drive it on CNG only.

sticky injectors cause this, remove and get them sonic cleaned. Usually if an engine is very slightly used on petrol this will occur as the injectors clean themselves when running. If they are not spraying (when using CNG) they will gum up and stick.

Ok I had a special look at the exhaust pipe today. Here is what happened.

    1. Car took longer than usual time to start on self in morning. It took around 3, 4 seconds of self to start and it had happened a few times before.
    2. Once started I had a look at exhaust and it was throwing white smoke. At that time the car didn't automatically convert to CNG so I had to press accelerator a little and then it converted to CNG. This also happens sometimes.
    3. As soon as I pressed accelerator, a lot of white smoke came and there was strong petrol smell. Then as soon as it was converted to CNG, the smoke started to disappear.
I didn't wait to see if the smoke is completely vanished after converting to CNG but it was must less than petrol. Then I went to office and there I had a look at exhaust pipe again and found no smoke coming from it (the car was on CNG at that time) or may be it was too bright and the sunlight was coming straight at it so may be I couldn't see it!? But I tried hard to look but didn't find smoke.

    Now what?

Ok today the problem got worse. The car was missing and its pickup was like dead. It even took long time to start. And I could smell petrol even during running it on CNG. It happened all the way from my office to home that petrol smell was there.
So I took it to my mechanic Asif bhai (Mohsin Autos) who is also a pakwheels user and this workshop owner. He checked the car and found out that injector are clogged/direct because of which I could smell petrol.

And to my surprise he told me that he has ultrasonic injector cleaning machines. I thought none in Karachi provides this service but he told me he has imported this machine around 1 and half month ago and haven't publicized yet so most people don't know. So now I will take my car to him Saturday for ultrasonic injector cleaning.

    Here is complete info:

    Pakwheels

It is near Malir Halt. When you are coming from Malir Halt towards Airport on Sharah e Faisal, move left from wireless gate (jo railway phatak bana hoa hai) and after crossing railway line take road on left side (so now you are now going back to Malir Halt but through other road). Go straight and you will find the shop.

Go to Asif bhai and told him kay woh Irfan ka bhai hai na black corolla wala us nay bheja hai

Just came back after injector servicing. Petrol smell is gone and car is running fine now. Car is not "missing" and pick up seems to be good. Will check in detail when I go on a little longer drive.
He has now put a banner outside workshop about ultrasonic injector cleaning. Also saw the machine.

I have a gut feeling that this thread was created for the publicity of Mohsin autos. :|
Mohsin autos is the same guy who flooded us with converting different vehicles on cng and prolly he was banned after that (not sure)

I may be wrong but that what I felt.

    No offence
