Well, this bill of yours isn't very pleasing but tell you what? I bought my first car 10 years ago and after an year or two, the clutch and pressure plate started giving me trouble. In order to save some cash I got them replaced by a local mechanic, that was the first most terrible mistake of my life. Since then, I never stopped visiting mechanics and I always regretted my decision. My problem NEVER got solved and rather kept on increasing after that incident and I finally sold the car. I'm never going to a local "self-proclaimed USTAAD" anymore, no matter what and would happily pay extra to Toyota.

Maybe, I'm only buying peace of mind but isn't that's the reason we maintain our cars in the first place?

Spot on.. gone through similar ordeal with my previous car.. it let me down while I was going for my final exam and 3 more times due to electrical problems created by these ustaads.
So only 3s dealers for me and it has been almost 10 years and 160,000 km I never regretted my decision.

didn't you stay with the car while the work was being done? they shouldn't be using things that are not specified by toyota. using oil addictive out of their own will? there are so many things that could have been done improperly during this work, even small things such as using the wrong kind of grease on slider pins could end up compromising the whole brake system in the long run.

So latest updates are the front lefts axel was making sound..

Toyota Garden motors were totally clueless about what it is coming from..
Little bit searching and consulting with Pakwheels friends it was established that the sound could be of cv joint, boot, axel.

Called Toyota for a quote of these parts so turns out Toyota does not sell these parts separately, it will sell front complete setup cv joints outer inner axle and it's a pair for 145,000 and they did not have it in stock, they will import on order.

Since I had to visit Islamabad the very next day it was decided to consult a local mechanic and replace the part which needed to be replaced.

Upon inspection it was discovered that the outer cv joints boot was torn and hence ending up replacing only that.

The aftermath of the whole process is that the dub dub sound has disappeared but there is little vibration and steering is a bit hard when turning towards left. The cv joint was of 1500cc model and I have no idea if 1300cc exist or the OEM part was 1300cc or 1500cc

I am not satisfied with the results and now the question is what should be done?

Options are live with it for the timebeing or replace it again with aftermarket parts both left cv joints and axle or go for Toyota way and cough up 145k
    :/

Go to reputable Goda work (lol) axel specialist of Lahore ( there is one in every city) simple job. It would be insane to spend 145,000 rs just on a 'goda'.
