Default Power window problem - Toyota Altis 2007

    Hi

I have a 2007 Toyota Altis with factory fitted power windows. Recently there is problem in only one window i.e. driver side front door window. When I press to close the window, the glass stops half way in the middle and doesnt work anymore. When I leave it as it is for few minutes, it then works all the way up. So, sometimes it works all the way and sometimes stops halfway. It seems that the motor is working. A friend in OEM suggested that there is rust in contacts and problem should be solved by servicing. Toyota central says that motor should be replaced @rs.26000/-.
Can I get some advice on the problem and solution. Thanks.

Bro First of All chck your window channel. It shoulb be Dust free because dust make the window channel slow.
Search for silscon Base Lubricant in Market and spray it in the window channel..move your window up and down for 3 times the problem will be solved..if it remains then chck your Window Motor. Secondly 26000 is too much for motor..search some kabli one

Thanks for the replies. I will try the window surface lubrication.
Toyota central advisor told me it is rs.26000/-.

Can I swap the motors i.e. put the front door motor in back side door and vice versa? Is it possible? Because I only use the driver side motor.

Hi, I read in some forum that WD40 can damage the rubber channel in power window and should not be used. Instead a silicon spray should be used.
Can someone recommend a brand for silicon spray.

I asked the Toyota Central Motors advisor to swap the motors and he said that the driver side motor cannot be swapped with anyother motor. He said this motor is different from the other three motors.

    Does this make sense?

Yes it is true all motors along with assembly are different.
first step in debuging is to trace what happens when your window is closing and it stops half way up.weather power comming from switch fails, or motor has loose connection, or channel is dusty. By visiting a nice electrition he will connect a test lamp with motor power terminal and debug the problem. Motor might have no problem.
