    Default GLi Vs 2.0D

    I have a 2003 Gli with an added Injen air intake, and I just need to know whether it can beat a 2.0D. And secondly, is the 2NZ-FE engine DOHC?

    Salam...lolz...GETMOA was a victim of Suzukis unmatched quality which always pinches him...wat u say is what i have always experienced but GETMOA wont believe me(right getmoa ??)) ...he loves to use the word THAKELEE for Baleno..lolz.. which keeps him happy ....

    nahhhhh!!!! bilooo yaar aiseee baaat naheee hay, just keep awaring you ppl that don't go for that car if u want speed and pick. otherwise that car do have a road grip, power steering and suspension is also nice from the old shape of city. laikin now the new CITY
    has completely taken lead in the said aspects. no no place left for this.....

    ANY I RACED WITH 3 BALENOS AL FOUND MINES SAME IN 1ST THREE GEARS AND ALL THOSE WERE OF MY FRIENDS AND WELL MAINTAINED PLUS I TOOK LEAD FROM ONE COUPLE OF TIMES WHERE AS THE OTHER TWO HAVE THE SAME PICK UP UP TO 115KM/HR.

    OTHER THAN THIS I DROVE 2-4 MORE BALENOS (T) AND EXPERINCED SAME PICK OF EVERY ONE.

    P.S EVEN I AM AGAINST IT BUT LEARNED ALOT FROM PAKWHEELS AND U WILL BE AMAZED TO KNOW THAT EVEN I AM INSISTING MY FAMILY TO GO FOR THIS THAKELEEE IF THEY REALLY WANT TO BUY ON CNG. BECOZ AFTER READING FORUMS I COME TO KNOW THAT ITS BETTER TO OPT A GENIUNE CNG RATHER THAN SWITCHING AFTERWARDS.

    BILOOO WHAT MILAGE DOES YOUR SPORTS GIVES U IN ONE CYCLINDER???

    Salam....yani ke sare piece hi defected hehe..(just kidding)...newayz..u r right cars r heavy on petrol these days but CNG is very very cheap yaar ....210 ka cylinder full hota hai n 140 chalti hai if u drive steadily....(also depends upon good service n tuning)
    thats so cheap in it...factory fitted baleno has an advancer alongwith a modulator wich ensures excellent timing on CNG ...
    abt the new city...1 of the cars i personally like alot but economy has to b considered in it....

    well first of all the fastest 1.3 ever made in pak is 2001 model city!
    secondly definately 2.0d beats baleno 1.3 if ur talking about 0-200, but in 0-100 baleno is faster. most of u guys never go above 140 in city when u race, so try dragging baleno 1.3 with 2.0d on motorway from stand still to 200, and just see which car touches first!
    iss key alawa, xli is faster then baleno but not faster then the 2001 city

    Man....what r u talking about.no comments on your thoughts.actually u donot know the actual meaning of cars and their engineering how they r made ,what r fitted in them,how they will work.2.od vs gli.........and listen dohc engines made for the powerful cars not for these dramas they r not mad that they will fit a dohc engine in a simple 1.3L engine.and DOHC means(DUAL OVER CAM)means each cylinder have four valves for the maximum output.

    hello!!!
    well as Gli is DOHC+petrol+1.6 so it can smoke an 2.0d easily....but on high distance race diesel can possibly mess with u remember its diesel power

    F1, bhai its 2005, not ur 1960s
    DOHC means (Dual Over Head Cam) not (Dual over cam of yours)

    u think making a DOHC engine costs the same like an engine of F1? yes corolla 1.3 XLI, GLI, Se Saloon all have DOHC, and even civic has 4 vavles, baleno has 4 valves, every 1.3 or 1.6 cars have 4 vavles!!!

    every car now being produced is either DOHC or has Variable intake system!

    secondly, sali2002, so u mean to say tht if the road is long, for example 5 kms and u race a diesel, so due to long length of road, the power of diesel will increase??? wht kind of explanation is this, plz mind explaining this to us. WHERE AS I THINK THT, AT ONLY HIGH SPEEDS, DIESELS OUT PERFORM PETROL DUE TO MORE POWER AGAINST DRAG! TRY DRIVING A 2.0D, AND FEEL THE SLAGGISH PICK IN INITIAL GEARS UPTO 120. THEN FEEL THE TORQUE OR POWER IN 4TH AND 5TH GEAR WITH 5 PPL IN UR CAR, AND WITH 5 PPL IN GLI, RACING BESIDE U

    Diesels suck and so does the 2.0D. These rubbish engines with 2C config(which by the way came out in Japan in 1991) while the new 2NZ-FE(Xli/Gli) and 3ZZ-FE(SE Saloon) were released in the late 90's. So basically, whether you like it or not, the GLI can smoke a damn 2.0D anytime....no matter how much road you got..no **** is gonna wait for a diesel to pick up speed!

    who can it possible if think technically
    as u all know ithink that diesel engine is aself combustion engine where as a petrol is igniting engine so if we start both cars with full acceleration so petrol has low octane rating + igniting it burns fast and picks speed whereas diesel has high octane rating + no igniting so it take times to have a pick and when it come on speed the process will be so fast and then due to self combustion more it heat the best it gives in high rpms while in petrol engine more it heats less the performance so think it and then tell me......

    Sali2002, I appreciate the technical specs but on the road no one gives.The 2.0D is going to take a while to speed up and most races wont last that long. Basically just drive your 2.0D's around so as to get some decent fuel consmumption and pollute the damn enviornment..thats all the 2.0ds are capable of..petrol rules baby!

    Most people think that remains from diesel are more harmful to environment and health because they just see the black colour of burnt diesel. And on other side burnt gasoline is not visible. But for those people a correction here that burnt gasoline is far more dangerous then burnt diesel. This is because of nitrate presence in the exhaust gases from gasoline. Both NO and NO2 r the contents of exhaust gases from gasoline with some amounts of CO. And if some1 of u has an idea that what a free CO can do to a human life, he will agree with me. I am not stating al this from my own side. These r from researched facts.

    for GLI

    first of all drags are against the respect of diesels! diesel sey race lagani hai apni baleno ya GLI ko 120 per lejao highway per, saath diesel 2.0d ho, aik dam dono ko accelerate karo!

    i my self have smoked all 1.3 cars on motorway who approach from behind for overtake, by accelerating the car!
    inturn they also accelerate in order to fully overtake, but in the end, sharam sey peechay he rehtay hein!
    and my car is 2003 2.0d sal.

    yes one more thing as faheem12 said, diesel is a safe fuel, diesel doesn't catch fire, so then how come it can have sparkplugs! yes it does not have sparkplugs but instad the fuel+air mixture is ignited by compression, thats why diesels have high compression i.e. around 19:1 to 22:1

    GLI now i think u urself have recently bought a GLI, and are trying to prove thts the car which has balls to bash a vti!, but sorry brother tht car does not smoke 2.0d at all speeds, 0-100 man leta hoon, per definately not 100 and above!

    CNG equipped dont have HP and Torque!
    while diesels too dont have HP, but have torque and plenty of it!

    Salam...Relax tech_wiz.. ..if drags are against the respect of diesels then diesels shouldnt b mentioned in the race lists..diesels provide u with power n economy ...y do u guyz think that a diesel car is meant for racing...
    n haan if u accelerate an od n a 1.3 on 120 i am sure the 1.3 wont allow u to take a lead...try it with some1 u know..trying it randomly ends up with biased results...people often stop accelerating when the other car is faster then teres....
    Take the limit 2 140km...that would b arrigght!

    Tech_wiz bring it on!. F**k the motorway...who races on that anyway? Its the normal roads baby..everything is against the Diesels! It doesnt matter if your car is 2003 or 2005, they both have the same crappy engines. Yeah maybe, on the motorway when youre doing about 160+ the Diesel may pick up power because of its masisve engine size as compared to the 1.3L. Dude, If I were to bash a Civic I have a Civic Vti Manual(going to install NOS this week) to it and for f**king a diesel up, I use my 1.3L Corolla and it does an awesome job!

    Gli.. zara sabir kero ... tum nay Gli kia kharedd li.. demag he kharab ho gaya tayra... forget it that u can get near to a 2D over 100Kph. Pata nahin kin bachon say race ker kay khush ho jatay ho. On high speeds greater torque of diesel engines help gaining speeds quickly.

    Dude, what are you proposing? How much do you think the 2.0D can do? 240Kph? The Gli has a top speed of 185Kpm and I've hit that speed. Im sure the 2.0D can do just about as much but no further. Its no Vti now. Anyway, i've raced 3 OD's and now if those guys dont do more than 160-170 it aint my fault! I believe what I see!
