    Unhappy Corolla GLi 08 Problem...

PWer experts, I have a corolla GLi 08 about 165k kms driven.
The problem is that when car is put in first gear and the clutch pedal is released i.e. whenever it is starts moving from a complete stop, there are extreme jerks in the motion along with a loud "gud gud gud" sound. It goes away once the car starts moving and happens for about a moment only.

    It:
-happens at all temperatures of the engine, no matter cold or hot.

-does not depend upon the gas pedal depression, just happens as one moves it along from a complete stop

    -happens only in first gear.

There is no other problem and the drive is just perfect except that. Its on CNG. Goes upto 160kmh like a dream without any issue.

So far i have taken it to many mechanics in Islamabad and pindi but no one has been able to sort out the issue... Someone says clutch plate, someone says transmission issue and just bla bla bla....

Even one said that the car needed an engine overhaul.

Please help me to identify as what seems to be the problem...

The clutch consumables need replacement in that case, simply speaking you need to change the clutch and pressure plates.

BTW that is a lot of driving you have done in 3 years, any history of the driver riding the clutch paddle while driving??

bro, thats a daily driven car... but its cared for alot... and, um, I got them checked the mechanics said that the clutches were all fine... the problem was something deep... weren't able to identify it...

and by riding the clutch, if u mean resting foot on it, i think no. or very very rarely.

@165k I think it can be safely said, with the signs you are stating, the problem definitely lies with the clutch. It can be bearing, simple springs on clutch plate or the pressure plate might require facing. Go to some good mechanic who has a repute of being miser he wont change useless parts nor will rob you in terms of labour. at 165,000 kms I think its a routine maintanence job

hmmm... thank you sir g... its just that I won't like those sh*ts to ruin my car just like they treat taxis out there... I was surprised and it seemed like a nightmare that not a single mechanic was able to tell me the problem with absolute confidence.

Everyone was like, "bhai khol kr check karta hun shayd clutch plate ka issue ho ya kia patta transmission kharaab ho"

    damn flabbit.

and as i see, about 115 views and nobody has posted over here, this problem doesnot seem to be very common in cowrolla.

People who drive slow on fast lanes, remember one day a vehicle carryin ur son, dad might get late to hospital coz people like u. underaged driving will land u in bigtime trouble one day or the other.. And the Blue indication light on ur speedometer denotes "High Beams"

Why so confused , just take it to Toyota Islamabad Motors (Aabpara) and Toyota Capital Motors (I-9), get it checked from both and get an estimate from both. See who's charging less and get it fixed up. Dont go to roadside mechanics they'll f**k up your car.

You can test your clutch plate by driving the car from a stand still but in higher gear. If it moves, the clutch is fine... I don't think jerks with "dug dug" sound are associated to the clutch.

yar if you have old shape corolla and its cluch and pressure plates are ok then just ask your mechanic to bleed your cluch oil. i had 2006 corolla ( when at 60k i have this problem) and some time its start this jurk problem specially when driven in congested traffic. ask your mechanic to bleed oil from your hydrolic cluch to remove air and hopefully will be solved.

may be many friends over here disagree from my opinion. i'm not an expert but that thing solve problem in my case

@ poster things you need to do first check them by an experienced mechanic/electrician only after that go for opening of gear box and clutch and pressure plate inspection.
    1.get the foundations checked.
2.get the spark plugs, battery, coils, alternator/connections checked.
    3.get the transmission fluid checked.

if they are correct, After that you can tell that there may be a problem in Transmission system.
then show it to a good gear wala mechanic..
