Smile Altis now with navigation system

Today Indus Motor Co. arranged training for their upcoming new Navigation system.
This navigation system is planned to install in all ALTIS vehicles delivered from first week of March 2012 & onward. The best thing in this news is that this navigation is offered in all ALTIS models without any additional cost and offered to all existing and new bookings from March 2012 till any further change
Officially announcement will be expected in next Sunday newspaper.
According to source that this navigation is imported from Toyota Thailand and is the same offered by Toyota Thailand in their vehicles. Pakistan maps and software is loaded by C-Track. They also announce that this navigation is not being sold in market and also not offered to old ALTIS or any other vehicle.
I am trying to grab its manual and other info. If I got then I will upload. But for your info that this is really a better quality system and far better than the available navigation system range in market.

(Although the source of info is very reliable but i am not hold responsible for anything)

Let's see if I manage killing the virus or not, or if I again opt for a "carry dabba" with Navigation, I just can't say anything, don't have me hung up, lolz!

More than a Navigation system, Indus should have worked to offer immobilizer option instead, or even portable ECU box installed with grips and wires inside the glove box compartment, in view of it being the most stolen 2 mil vehicle in Pakistan. I doubt such measures would cost any MUCH more than the 60K Nav system being offered, and even if it does, they damn heck owe it to their customers.

After mine was stolen some 4 weeks back, 2 more in adjoining colony have been stolen. It is heard that cars are going the Afghan route, transformed to Diesel cars, now where does the brand new 2011 gasoline engine end up, just tell me, nobody needs 2011/2012 spares, do they? Oh yeah, it just appeared to me, perhaps they do!

In any case, that's another good "toffee" introduced there by Indus, yet exactly toffees create cavities, with respect to empty car porches in the morning lolz!

Will let know of my decision, let's see.

From the comment above, it seems that you'll not like Altis as much as you did before but I'll not like to bias your decision before you actually make it !

Car makers need to add immobilizer. Especially in vehicle worth 2 million without immobilizer does not make any sense.

You have approach in indus , cant u convey this to their bosses, adding an immobilizer will not cost them much but will add too much to the peace of mind of the end user.

Have you tried mailing about ur loss to indus motors? And a complain, that if there was a imobilizer maybe ur car would still have been there?
Get over the fact that Xli lacks power windows, Its an Xli because it lacks thoose features or else it would be a Gli or an Altis if had all the goodies.

Lolz! I'm really caught with a leg each in both camps, can't really say yet. Checked out the Civic Fully Loaded as an alternative, sadly it didn't satisfy my comfort requirements for longer routes, would need a physiotherapist along with me for each long ride, lolz!

On the other hand, the Altis requires a gunman along, in addition to myself, lolz! So that's the choice.

This is where I feel we're getting much more value-for-money with respect to top notched JDM's, so I'm kind of evaluating my options, though they're few.

In any case, for devoted Altis lovers, I certainly don't intend to disrupt the rhythm of joy here with the Navigation added by Indus, enjoy guyz, just keep one in the pipe during rides, a couple of good dogs and all that you can think of between heaven and earth with respect to safety measures for home security. They'll leave you only till you're undiscovered, I lasted 6 months, there's something organized going on.

I enquired about the auto-dimming rear view mirrors that were offered in Altis for a short while last year, but the Toyota Airport Motors had no idea about it. Anyone here who got the Altis delivered with such rear view mirror?

One of my friend got last year Aug 11 from Toyota Walton Motor. This was the only car i seen with auto dimming mirror. Last year i checked in USA, new mirror is available @ 140 USD at Toyota dealer but i missed.

If the nav system is provided by trakker nav then it would probably be the same as this: https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/mem...tis-t-red-wine

I booked my Altis AT in December 2011 but still waiting for its delivery, I am not sure if I would be getting this product in my car. I called the dealership but they have no clue about it. Rizwan Sb is there a way to find out?

These systems are avalible at the showroom display since i got my Gli booked in January 2011, So i guess you are right, But ive got a feeling the system might of gud quality (i.e Thailand Alpine shelpine type) and the soft ware would be provided by Traker Nav.

Since Honda Civic and Suzuki Swift both top of the line models are coming with built in dash audio players so Toyota was missing the spark. Thats just to do that iguess, I hope now Altis comes with Steering (audio) controls as well
