Default Query about Security system and Immobiliser.

    Salam PWers!
As we all have noticed recently that there has been a considerable increase in the theft of Corolla. In the past past 3 weeks, I have come across at least 7-8 cases of Corolla being stolen mostly from inside the house. My taya lost his brand new Altis outside his house in F-11 ISB.
These incidents have compelled me to look for a rather durable and robust security system for my cars.
Back in 1998, my father had this Suzuki Margalla which had 3 buttons placed conveniently at different locations in the car.
After inserting the key in the ignition, these three buttons were needed to be pressed in a particular combination for the car to start.
Now i am looking to install such a system in my car but with a lot more robustness. Therefore, i will appreciate it if experts here can pool in some suggestions in this thread to make such a system. At the end of the discussion, i expect that we might come up with durable system which will be immune to hot wiring the ignition.
And how exactly does an immobiliser work?

    Regards.

chaudhary bahi, most of the shopkeeper promote unbranded and non-reliable system with no back-up. there are number of good Chinese brands you can buy. the tracker system which SHARI BAHI (Dubai Auto) showed you have same problem. its very unreliable and no back-up. I have used that system my self (BALKAY DEMAGH KEE DAHEE HAY GSM SYSTEM).

steel mate is the most reliable system available in Pakistan ( but only go for English packing, Chinese packing lack some important function like engine-immobilizer, and main ic is of Chinese origin)

After going through the entire line up of the security systems available in the market, I have come to the conclusion that all of them are simply useless. None of them is immune to hot wiring, including Steel Mate which is just a fancy security system working on the principle of every other PLC security system.
Best of such security systems work on the basic principle of cutting off power via either tapping in the ignition or the fuel pump(similar to what a tracker does). However, such circuits can easily be bypassed by any amateur electrician. So they are pretty much useless.
What can't be bypasses is tapping in directly in the ECU, that is disabling the ECU all together. And this is how OEM Immobilizers work. They simply disable the ECU if a key without the transponder is used to start the car.
In the market, I have also seen wanna be immobilizers as well. Yet they work on the principle of tapping in the wiring of either fuel pump or ignition. So they are a no go as well.
For now, I am relying on a steering lock and a typical high quality lock in the U-joint of the steering column. I know that can very well damage the U-joint but if one is careful while locking and uses the appropriate size, then nothing will happen to U-joint. Tri-Circle locks are useless as they can easily be opened via common keys. Better get a lock which is very uncommon in the market.

My friend these robbers have cutters that cut the lock with same effort as required to cut through butter with a blunt knife
