Default Is 1.0L Joy faster than 1.3L XLI/GLI/CITY/2.0D?

    Max. Output (Hp / rpm)

    1.0L Chevrolet Joy - 63.2 / 5400

    0.8L Coure _-_ 30 / 5500
    1.3L Xli/Gli _-_ 60 / 6000
    1.3L City _-_ 57 / 5800
    1.3L Liana _-_ 66 / 5750
    2.0L 2.0D _-_ 53 / 4600

Furthermore the 1.6L Optra seems faster than 1.6L Vti & 1.8L Altis and just near the 2.4L Camry

    1.6L Chevrolet Optra - 107 / 5800

    1.6L Vti _-_ 96 / 6600
    1.6L Liana _-_ 76 / 5500
    1.8L Altis _-_ 100 / 6000
    2.4L Camry _-_ 112 / 5600

Weird stats these are. By these stats it is faster, but i own a 2.0d saloon and is certainly faster than a 1.0 Joy.

hmmm..all figures except for the Chevrolet's are explicitly stated in KW / RPM. Not sure about the CHEVROLET'S as the site fails to mention anything except HP / RPM which I assumed to be in KW too as on all other sites it says "Maximum Horsepower... (KW / RPM)" Thus.

    @ aliqadri

How can you say Joy is 48 hp where the site says it's 63.2 hp.

    http://www.nexusauto.com.pk/products_joy.htm

does the site mention any KW?

    http://www.honda.com.pk/city_spec.htm

    compare...

If on the site it is 63.2 hp and not 63.2 kw then it makes 47.13 kw not hp.

Yara its 63BHP, thats it! No comparison with the rest. 2NZ-FE can blast the Joy in 1st gear, well second for sure! :p Optra is no match for VTI in terms of performance, 107BHP compared with 130BHP!

Well guys, lets get technical here

HP (horsepower) determines the max power output of car, that is to say roughly you can determine the performance, but you cant just say that for example, a 63 Hp is better than 52 HP. There are a lot of factors like torque curve of the engine, and most importantly, the weight of the car. If a car is 82 HP, 1.3 Litre car, its weight would be higher than say a small car with 63 HP. And the torque the engine produces will also determine acceleration at higher RPMs.

For the figures, they are in KW and of Joy in HP. 63 HP joy is the Pakistani version with 1.0 Litre engine. The figure for city shows 57 which is in KW. The HP of city is approx 77.

IMP: just for approx calculation of performance, if you know the weight of car (plus driver at least!), divide the weight with given Horsepower value, you will get rough time in seconds of the time the car takes to accelerate from 0 to 100 KM/H. E.G, if a car (like City) is 77 HP and the weight is around 1100 KG, divide 1100 by 78 and you get 14.2 seconds. Hope this helps

    Regards
    Deloy

    @ Rest

Chevrolet Vehicles apart the thread is still useful comparing the rest of the vehicles as all other figures are in same unit i.e. KW / RPM

Man! Not to offend you but
NO 1 Litre Stock NA Engine WILL BE ABLE TO EVEN BE NEAR THE ACCELERATION OF THE 2.0D

Yes, a modified one can do that easily. My Alto does 0-100 in 13s and that too after very heavy mods. Civic VTi does it in mid 9-10s. And A 2.OD Might do it in Mid 14-15s.

    @hasantar:

Dude, you've mentioned the grid in HP/RPM, yet stated power beneath in KW.

Moreover, the Power of 1.6, 1.8 and 2.4 Camry you've mentioned are in KW and while that of Optra is in Hp. You're doing nothing but misleading the people who're reading this.

VTi has 128 Hp and Liana has 101Hp. Camry has 150Hp and Altis has 133Hp.

Next time before posting anything vague do your mathematical homework.
