Thread: Corolla 2011 1.3 - Performance Upgrade

    Default Corolla 2011 1.3 - Performance Upgrade

    I wanted to increase the performance of my 1.3 2011 GLI , slightly.
    I thought to my self, how hard could it be, go a performance shop and get a turbo installed... (please pardon and try NOT to laugh at my ignorance and lack of knowledge... )


    So i went to this performance shop and said : "Give me TURBO for Gli 1.3 2011"....
    The guy looks at me, tries not to laugh and says..... "Is engine kay liye turbo naheeen ata...."

    ..... that destroyed my world completely.....anyways after some discussions and R&D, following is what i can do :
    Plugs + Wires
    Filter
    Down Piping

    My questions to you guys are :
    1. Where to get down piping done in Pindi/Islamabad (Best Quality work) and approximate cost
    2. Is there anything else i can do with my car... not something hefty... just something that would take me to 120 hp.... without having the need to change suspension/braking etc....

    Any specific reason behind attaining this 120hp mark?
    Let me give you a little idea.
    The 1ZZ-FE in Altis which is 1.8L produces around 130hp.
    The 2NZ-FE in GLi produces around 84hp and its 1.3L.
    With plugs and downpiping you will never achieve that much increase in hp.
    Performance can be slightly improved with the addition of such minor mods but dont expect any thing near 120hp by doing these mods.
    One of the most difficult things in the world is to know how to do something, and to watch without comment, somebody else do it incorrectly.

    I have an Alternator of 3000rmp 10kva which i want to fix with an Auto Engine to make a generator. As far as i understand the ideal rmp of Auto engine is arround 1500 rpm. plz any body let me know any engin that has 3000 rpm to fix it with 3000rmp alternator.

    @poster do not expect more than 5hp gain after stage1 mods.
    84+5=89hp's.
    if you want power swap 1zzfe or 1zrfe.you'l enjoy the power.

    Ahh so ur not willing for swap n turbocharging is not possible but we have one option
    NITROUS KIT
    get some 35 wet shots you can get good kit in between 20-30K
    rest go for I/H/E

    Thanks.... 120 was just a rough estimate to be able to accelerate faster than a city... now dont ask why that is...

    sir downpiping cost will be between 3k to 4k .and air intake will also be availaible in the same price range from market.sorry dont know about plugs . hope it helps

    Trust GReddy TF035HL Bolt-On Turbo Kit NCP 1NZ-FE 2NZ-FE

    u will also need forged stuff and modded headers...

    plugwires not possible in these new gen cars they hav independent coils.

    120hp? You can't achieve it only with intake/headers/plug+plug wires and down piping.
    Recently my czn's 2010 GLI with a air intake/ Plugs and down piping wasn't able to come near my bone stock 2010 i-vtec city with a muffler on 7th avenue. gap was of 2 cars.
    Accelerating a 1.3L corolla faster than an I-vtec city is just a dream. .
