Default Corolla 1995 1.6GLi: Yet another strange issue.

Hi, Respected experts and fellow members. I am facing very strange issue relating to its AC system. Occasionally, when i press the AC button, nothing happens. i mean neither AC radiator fan nor compressor turns on. and subsequently just after 5 or 1o mins of drive, i press the ac button again, AC comes on with its full efficiency and great cooling as a 1600 cc engine should do. As such this not a very big issue but it irritates me very much when i want cold air in my car and all it does is nothing. Please note that blower works fine, green on light comes on every time but i dont hear any click sound of compressor turning on. All this happens occasionally, usually AC works fine from the very start.

    Waiting for your valuable comments

    Thanks

not flickering - but a 1Hz flashing in any toyota or honda as they have compressor rpm sensor that means the compressor belt is slipping and the compressor has shut down.

if everything checks out OK, including the low pressure switch and other wiring - then check the A/C amplifier box under the dashboard - and also check the rpm wiring from the ignition coil.

check the fuse of AC it might have corrosion which disturb contact sand the point with sand paper and fix it back it might work if not
AC button is malfunctioning replace it
tell the electrician to directly connect the compressor and check if its working fine then simply replace the switch

^^ The A/C switch does not directly control the compressor in his car.
