    Lightbulb Corolla XLI Fuel consumption

I need help from Corolla owner brothers..

Please advise that which Corolla XLI has a better fuel consumption..
    is it
    Corolla 2003-2008
    or 2009 on wards model

Logically speaking 2009 onward should be more fuel efficient but people praise the old generation corolla ( 2003-2003)too much.. Is it true that that model was more fuel efficient and the new one is not due to low power to weight ratio??

please rate the model only on the base of fuel consumption.

    Thanks

I currently have 7 10th gen corolla's as I have rent a car bussines. All of my cars are on petrol. Often travel with 5 peoples onboard plus luggage on long routes. Average varies between 15 to 17 km/l with Ac.
Regarding the cooling of Ac, I also think that its cooling is not that good. I have booked a 11th gen and will get my hands on it in Aug. Hope its Ac would work fine.

I have had both the generations. Corolla 2003-2008 Fuel mileage is no doubt 1 to 2 Km/L (max) better than the 2009-2014 mainly due to the ideal power to weight ration of the earlier. However, the well known brakes issue in 2003-2008 corolla should not be ignored. My 2012 Corolla started giving me good mileage after the initial 5000 Kms and got better uptill 15000 Km untill I sold it :-). I can confirm you that it gave me 11 Km/L in city with AC and moderate foot (Not light) and a few sudden accelerations every day to get out of traffic. It went max upto 11.5 to 12 km/L without AC (in winters) and 13 to 15 km/L on highway. Am not confident about the highway mileage because don't drive on long routes much.

1 to 2 km/L is not much of a difference considering the vvti technology and better braking capabilities of the later. You should keep in mind the braking issues especially if you plan to travel on highways. I would recommend to go for the 2009-2014 model Gli as it is also equipped with ABS.

    Best of luck.

    Default XLi 2006 Mileage

2007 corolla XLi is excellent on CNG. It gives 120km with Ac on 8.5kg CNG filled. But on petrol it's very bad coz its rpm is set on 1100 which disturbs its fuel consumption. So my car do 8km/l.
    2009 corolla XLi is doing 11.5 - 12.5 km/l on petrol without Ac and with Ac 10.5 - 11.5km/l.
Its average on highway it is same due to full truck with luggage and full 5 seats occupied.

AOA i have Corolla Xli 2006 model ... it is giving me 8 km / L in city .. i have checked that with ac On for almost 30% of the time . The mileage i am telling you is after tuning . what should i do to increase its fuel consumption , i know its not good enough ..! thanks
