Default Fan Club Toyota Corolla Axio

Hello Fellas, so there wasn't a dedicated Axio fan club thread and there was a need of one so this is it. I hope we can help each other out with whatever useful info we have on the car.

I'll start of with a lil intro of what I did right after getting my Axio 'X' (2WD).

    Maintenance
Transmission Toyota CVT-TC Oil for Axio with CVT transmission (40k KM recommended drain interval)
Engine Oil Use 5W30/10W30/0W20/5W40 Oil (API SN/SM)
Filters OEM Oil/Air filter from Toyota Capital I-9, change interval: 10k KM
Throttle Body Get it cleaned if its dirty (it probably will be) Every 20-30k KM
Brake Pads Change upon looking at their condition, mine were in good condition so didn't change em. Originals usually last LONG
Coolant Didn't change, change with original Toyota coolant every 2yrs or 100K KM's (whichever comes first)
Spark Plugs Denso FK20HR11 for Axio with 1NZ-FE (X and G) and Denso SC20HR11 for Axio with 2ZR-FE (Luxel), OEM recommended
Brake Fluid Change every year, OEM recommended is DOT3/4 oil

You'll have to do with 2009 Japanese manual, which I have linked to earlier. There isn't much difference between 2007/2009 as far as I know.

Last summer was ok with 5W-30. Some friends of mine told me to shift to 10W-40 in summer. Though I think 5W-30 is also good for all seasons. 1NZ-FE manual recommends 5W-30.

What mileage are you getting these days?

I was facing slight knocking which worsened with the heat wave. I filled from Total Parco which has reduced the knocking. I guess I will know for sure when complete tank is filled from them.

Ya... Shows 14.5 km/l and with only 2 km travelled.... Haha. As the trip meter increases, the AVG goes down. I will know for sure in coming weeks what the AVG comes to be as I have done some work - whether or not it increases the mileage is yet to be seen.

Brother! I am getting 18 on long with full time AC ON. I drive less within City but usually 15~16 km/l is achieved in mixed driving. Remember that my AXIO has manual transmission. I have never faced knocking issue, but sometimes I use HI Octane instead of Petrol. Two days before I changed the oil, and switched to 10W-40. Now im expecting a 1km reduction in average on every litre, because previously fuel economy was dependant on 5W-30 shell helix HX7 (specific for fuel economy).

So you made the switch from 5W-30... Feel any difference in engine start/running etc.?

And the AVG meter in my case is off. For example, it would show 11.2 but it came out to be 10.2 after refill was done and calculation made on that.

NO difference in drive or starting. But Engine noise is felt to be reduced after cold start. After Engine gets hot, sound is same as on 5W-30. I hope to shift back to 5W-30 in winter Insha Allah.

Btw Shell Helix Ultra 5W30 isn't a group IV synthetic, its a group III synthetic which isn't really synthetic (mineral+synthetic blend).

What's wrong with it? If the buttons don't work as they should then try mapping them first from the HU settings.

I really don't have an idea about price so whatever offer you have, you can PM me

As for mapping from HU. I meant, go into your headunit settings and map/set the steering controls to their respective functions. My headunit is different from yours so can't tell you exactly what to do but this is how it should be :
Settings -> General -> <there's an option here for mapping>

Hi all. Is Hi-octane fuel preferred over normal petrol?
