These are conservative figures. Based on realistic conditions. Heavy traffic jams, dusty conditions, hot climate, lapses in maintenance procedures, lack of OEM parts, low quality fuel etc.

What you say is right but only in idealistic conditiions. Its very rare to achieve 20 km/ltr in a 2.0 D under normal driving conditions. The diesl fuel available in Pakistan has high Sulpher content of 0.9%. In Eurpe it is 0.03 %. In these conditions we expect more engine wear tear than normal.

BTW a gentle language with more persuasive logics is appreciated by everybody and helps in construcutive dialogue. Thanks for the correction if you still think I am wrong.

    55 litres tank
12-14km/L in isb with A/C running even when stopping in markets
On long 11-13km/L at speeds of 120-130 km/h

These feul averages improve with running of engine over 10000km

My one is 2700km run and giving these figures

Engine life of the 2.0D 2003--It was used about 200000km and had no problems.Every part original.Sold to other person who has used it about 292000km and still engine gives no problem and oil decrease is almost unnoticable in 3000km oil change period

The engine life depends on your usage.Avoid hard acceleration--using car as a sports car, change oil every 3000km and oil filter every 6000km,Use Caltex Delo gold or Mobil1 oil,Change diesel filter at 12000km,Atomizer service at 50000km,timing belt at 80000-90000km

Driving diesel cars at high RPM is usesless.you can sit relax with diesel engine having more torque so you can trevel with low RPM in treffic its depend on driver.
As well as the 20km/liter is concern i said it maximum.on long run with low rpm you can get more its up to driving habbit.
diesel engine are more long lasting than petrol if maintanin Fool proofly
