The word IMPORTED is the reason of ur problem. U r first owner here but in reality u r not as the car was driven in japan n then dumped to Pak n here got sold after meter reversal.

It should atleast last till 300k-400k If driven carefully, my uncle have Gli 2005 275k+ driven (mostly on highoctane) and is in pristine condition much better than our 90k driven 04 corolla (though meter maybe reversed,we bought it used :p)

valve seal service is part of regular maintenance, so is checking and adjusting the valve bucket clearance - If you dont do this your engine will keep on feeling tardy and will consume a lot of oil too.

You have no idea how ratty the fuel is all over Northern America, the ethanol blended fuel sips moisture and gets waterlogged, it gives pathetic mileage too. Couple that with expensive labor and you get a very bad recipe for disaster. In such times if you follow manufacturer recommendation for service the engine will work correctly. If you choose to have it repaired with hammer/chisel/cheater pipe etc. thats not valid reason that the availability is bad.

e.g. recently you replaced your radiator with a junk one, in most other countries they would not touch a junk radiator because it is known to become brittle and may crack at the worst of times. So who chose the wrong path, anyway - like dms said your 5AFE engine was picked up used and you chose to risk running it without knowing its usage or service history. You are now seeing the required upcoming maintenance in the form of oil consumption.

some says that if valve seal are weak car gives smoke in the morning some says its ring problem i dont think it would be a ring problem too early

replace valve seals, by the toyota service book you dont even need to remove the head if you have a spark plug air fitting and an air compressor - you can even feed some nylon rope in the cylinders to prevent the valves from dropping.

If your mechanic is from the 1800s when railways were steam powered and his best tools are hammers - and if his relative is a lathe operator he will surely remove the head and take your wallet for a ride.

If all are like that then you have 2 choices.

1 - show him the proper way
2 - follow whatever he is doing.

Yes all such parts have a finite life, replacement of worn out parts is a requirement for good service life.

if it is maintained (proper intervals for oil change), then it has life of 400k max. And if you are normal user with moderate running, then you would not be consuming more than 50k for next 2 years. therefore go for it but have negotiations on price.
