    Default Washing corolla 2009-2013 at service station other than toyota

    I have heard that the new model of corolla should only be washed at Toyota dealerships As roadside service vendors also use water in engine bay due to which a chip in the engine can get wet and so be damaged is it true???

    @jaseem77
    Yes The Corolla's Engine Bay Mustn't Be Washed By Water, As It Contains ECU, Which Works Electronically, And As You Know Water Is Good Conductor Of Electricity, So Water Will Enter The ECU, And ECU Would Get Damaged, And If It Gets Damaged You Would Have To Replace The ECU Which I Think Costs From 45 Thousand To 50 Thousand, So To Wash The Engine Bay, You Should Buy A Water Proof ECU Cover From Toyota Service Centre And Install It Buy Yourself Or From The Toyota Motors Mechanics, Which Will Cover The ECU And Prevent Water From Entering In ECU.
