Question Corolla GLI 1.3 Average Fuel Consumption

AOA, I've purchased GLI 3 weeks back. It has done 800 km.

As I know average of GLI is around 12 km/l. But right now I'm getting average of 9.5 /l.
Can anyone suggest his experience if average will improve after certain mileage say 5000 km?

    BR.

and these plugs. The reason I got Honda plugs is that the ones by Toyota are by Denso and these are by NGK.If u manage to get the size right then these are better.I have been using these for 3 years now and no prob at all.Change at 20K.

Hi,I have a Gli 1.3L 2010 model.Fuel economy from my experience depends on alot of things like tires, driving style, engine oil and most importantly the condition of the throttle body.Ial be honest here, no reason to lie.....I get 14-17 in city sometimes 12-16 depending on how I use the pedal. On highway i managed to get it up to 23KMPL on 100kph.My Ava is 17KMPL
These are the specs and what i do with it....
Toyota 10W-30 engine oil( the one in the tin pack), 2600 RS 4 liter
    Thai filters. (one filter: 450RS)
Get the throttle body(or known as tuning among the mechanics) cleaned with a carb cleaner at every oil change which is 5K KM.(200 RS labour)
Use Liqui Moly oil additive( only half(150ml) at every oil change).(650 RS)
Plugs at 20K(Honda original by NGK) and no honda plugs are not dangerous for a toyota..find the same size, the reason i got Honda plugs cuz they are NGK and the Toyota are Denso and personally i dont like Denso but the Honda plugs have never ever given any problem what so ever infact they are better and i have been using them for 3 years now.
Liqui Moly engine flush at 15K( on the 3rd oil change) (i dont remember it was either 550 or 450 RS)
Liqui Moly Fuel System Treatment every 10K with a full fuel tank and this is quite effective.(750 RS)
I have Yokohama Fuel saving tires(S Drive)...........which are damn light
    tire pressure ... 30psi
Wheel balancing and alignment at every 15K
one more thing i dont get the tank full only half cuz its only extra weight...if not on a long drive ( Shell Petrol )
and one more thing i recently changed the wheel bearings (got NSK Japanese wheel bearings which are pretty much the same thing as Toyota's Bearings the only difference that Toyota's are expensive) and now it is just super quite with those S Drive tire.
Just to specify i dont get all the work from Toyota.I have managed to find spare parts merchants which have original parts in almost the best cost possible. ( Front:1800 RS one piece and Rear: 1100RS)

These were the things i use in my 2009 model GLi.I am very happy the way my car works.About economy well it mainly depends on how the car is driven.More factors may include Wheel balancing, type of tires(Yokohama S-Drive in my care and 30 psi pressure)etc.

    salam.

I am going to buy corolla GLI 1.3 MT because of its 5speed gears instead of 4 speed Automatic GLI 1.3 ...I don't know people are saying that AT 4 gears engine will be more noisy on more speed like 120-130-140 and it is also not fuel efficient than GLI 1.3 MT.

they are saying 4 forward gears are not suitable for heavy body. I want to know is it worth to buy GLI AT than MT. I just love auto transmission because it is very easy on noisy roads. please advise me a good side.

what is the performance of AT. I am really confused.

there is not much of a difference to be honest. The AT does provide good fuel economy though and about going on high speeds and having noises...............no there is no such thing as per my experience I have a manual GLi and have driven the new 1.3L AT GLi from Lahore motorway to Faisalabad, took it to 150KMPH at one point and there isnt much of a difference in it but infact the new upgraded engine less loud as compared to the old one in my 2010 model corolla. The difference comes as I read on wikipedia that 4 forward AT has different gear to gear ratio then a MT 5 forward......... So if u like the AT go for it.It is smoother and easy to drive if u get busy all the time.

just want to share my expereince with Yokohama tyres. These tyres give rough noise on high speed and the sound is very irritating. one can feel the sound its like as if the wheel bearing has gone dry. go for dunlop LM sports. very soft and smooth tyre.

Driving a 2010 GLi almost everyday, getting average ranging between 11-18 kmpl. Now it might sound insane but it totally depends on how am I driving! When I drive with a light foot and keep max 80-100kmph speeds I get 18kmpl. Try getting your car tuned from a toyota service centre and then drive with a light foot, things will seem better

Altis 1.6, 2015, now 5,500 kms driven and I noticed that now for the past three days average stays in the 13 km/lit zone. Earlier it used to fluctuate between 10-11 kms/lit. City drive, no long route done yet.
Be polite on the road. Always give way to others, particularly ambulances and pedestrians.

bro this average calculation is not correct. try to calculate it manually and you will get the exact mileage of ur car which will be very less than being shown on meter. I have GLI too and i have checked the average shown on meter in never accurate. Sometimes its high and sometimes its low. get ur fuel tank topped up drive it for 25km and than get ur tank topped again. divide 25km with the amount of fuel poured in your tank and u will get exact average. i get an average of 14.8 maximum and minimum 12.5 with A/C on local drive depending upon fuel and driving style. i mostly drive with light foot.
