    Default 11th Generation Corolla " US vs European" A look!

    The 11th generation Toyota Corolla is revealed for US markets on June 6th, 2013. The same was released in Canada on June 7th . The Euro version was shown to public in Istanbul/ Turkey as well the other day. Lets hear from you what your opinion is about the two.

    The US version engine and transmission details are available. But for European version these are still to come. The base 2014 US Corolla is equipped with a carryover 132-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. The base Corolla L is equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission. The six-speed manual is also available in the Corolla S. A new 2014 Corolla LE Eco model targets over 40 mpg in highway driving, the automaker said. The Corolla LE Eco adds under-body covers, a color-keyed rear spoiler, low-rolling-resistance tires on 15-inch wheels, a more efficient 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission.

    It is believed that Euro version will come with a 1.3L engine. No confirmation as of now.

    (Update June 10: The European version will choices of either a 1.3-liter gas, 1.6-liter gas, or 1.4-liter diesel engine. For the Philippines, Toyota might go with a 1.6-liter and the 1.8-liter valvematic. Toyota will be building the European version of the 2014 Corolla in Turkey and is expected to go on sale end of July 2013)

    Motor-Trend said in an article and I quote as under.

    "As is often the case, the styling and content between the model sold in the U.S. and the rest of the world will differ slightly. The model that will be sold in Europe, Australia and other markets will get front-end styling resembling the European-market Toyota Auris. The U.S. version has a more aggressive-looking angular front end with a prominent lower grille. This supposedly in response to criticism of the current U.S.-spec Corolla perceived as not being sporty enough.

    The Euro-spec Corolla’s nose is smoother and less-angular, resembling the aforementioned larger Auris, in Toyota’s bid to position the Corolla as more upscale in European markets. Interior and rear-end styling is more similar between the two models. But there’s no denying that a car’s front end is often the defining characteristic of a car’s personality. Which are you a bigger fan of? The angular, aggressive lines of the U.S.-spec Corolla or the smoother, more subdued lines of the European model"

    But where will be the european rolla be released Because last time, the only sedan sold there by toyota was the Avensis there in EU. But in some EU countries, rollas were sold?

    Will the rolla return back to UK market? I liked the US Rolla more, man it looks aggressive! Hope IMC introduces the US-shape rolla.

    The interior of Civic 9th gen n even old 8th gen is much much better than this old fashion interior of corolla
    Shape is better than civic 9th gen but interior is really bad
    The ac vents in the center look cheap

    More details on Euro Corolla.


    The entry-level Corolla will sport the company’s 1.33-liter Dual VVT-i engine that delivers 98 HP (99 PS) and 128 Nm (94 lb-ft) of torque. According to Toyota, the six-speed manual transmission version returns a combined fuel economy of 5.6 liters/100 km.


    The 2014 Corolla will also feature the 1.6-liter Dual VVT-i unit and the 1.6-liter Valvematic engine. The first one is rated at 120 HP (122 PS) and 154 Nm (113 lb-ft) of torque, while the Valvematic offers 130 HP (132 PS) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. Average fuel economy for the 1.6-liter versions is estimated at 6.6 liters/100 km and 6 liters/100 km respectively.


    The fourth and largest gasoline powerplant is the 1.8-liter Dual VVT-i. Fitted with the Multidrive S automatic transmission, Corolla’s most powerful engine pumps 138 HP (140 PS) and 173 Nm (127 lb-ft) of torque, and returns an average fuel consumption of 6.4 liters/100km.


    Finally, the Corolla will go on sale with a 1.4 D-4D turbodiesel as well. The units will develop 89 HP (90 PS) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque and return a combined fuel economy of 3.8 liters/100 km when fitted with the standard six-speed manual transmission. This diesel version will also become available with a six-speed MultiMode transmission and Stop & Start technology.


    Also, Toyota announced that the 2014 Corolla will become available in three trim levels in Europe - Live, Active and Lounge.
